I have an Oscar.  But it's my dog not a movie award  Sad.  He is a little weiner dog (dachshund) and we named him after the Oscar Mayer Weiner Company hot dogs since he is a hot dog himself.  This is how he looks when he begs for food.

I lol'd. Hard.
I lol'd while hard.

I just watched Deer Hunter recently, and even though it is an excellent war film, one of the top of its genre.  The style of its direction  is so different to contemporary film  that I am sure it would not be recieved as well with present day audiences.

Should note that Hurt Locker was an independent film with its  initial release in Italy.  It never made it to "Hollywood" until after it recieved good reviews at Cannes.  It is considered a low budget film, so your not going to get a hundred actors on set, or 20 min. firefights through city streets like in BHD.

Shouldn't it be a wiener? As in sausage?

I am not sure about the spelling.  I see it written both ways.  But yeah you could call it a hot dog, sausage, etc.

I know I know, i before e.  Whatever.  I like weiner.  I prefer the emphasis.  It's like Way Eener.  Wiener is more like Wee Ayner.  It's a preference thing.

FIRST... We'll start off with some "Connect Four" (Gotta have a little Foreplay)
Continue the night with a game of "Don't Wake Daddy"
Then I'll quickly move onto a little game called "Sorry"
If you're worried we may have accidentally started a game of "Life"
I'll point you in the direction of "Operation"

I liked Avatar. It was beautiful, had tons of action, and had neocons foaming at the mouth because a bunch of white mercenaries prostituting themselves for a corporation got their bitch-asses kicked. Cameron should receive every award in existence.

Well, me too, but since Cameron basically copied and pasted the story from Pochahontas or Dances with Wolves so he could showcase his team's magnificent skill in computer imagery, he doesn't deserve a single Oscar.  The story was crap, the acting wasn't too bad, good camera work and impressive visuals.  About it.

I do agree about that. It was a blast to watch, very emotional for me. But in hindsight it was fairly cliche.
When Sully fell in the love with the chief's daughter, I was very consciously aware that it would happen when I first saw her.  Sad
I still love the movie though. It's my second favorite of all time, my favorite being Lord of the Rings. Grin

Who has seen Clash of the Titans yet?  If you haven't, do not go see it.  Save yourself the 10 bucks.  It's probably the worst movie I've seen all year.  Ever since I saw the Clash of the Titans I always thought that it would be the perfect movie to remake.  However, with the way Hollywood operates these days, I was dead wrong.  It's nothing but a pretty film with no substance, it's quick cash-in.

It's REALLY predictable, and not just because it's a remake.

The lines, you can call what the actors will say before they say it.  It's weird.

The lead actor has no presense at all.  Perseus gets his ass kicked the whole movie and he's supposed to be a demi-God?  Liam Neeson and the guy who plays Hades (forgot his name) are given little screen time and are completely wasted as true talent.  The bad guy from Casino Royale was actually pretty good as a captain.

The Kraken (SPOILERS!!!!!) dies in like 5 minutes and is the biggest boner-kill in any movie of all time.  He messed up the city a little bit and then died instantly.  Zeus says "Release the Kraken!" and I was like "Yeah, time for the good stuff FINALLY!" and then he dies before I can say "Kraken Boner"

Hades (SPOILERS!!!!!) is defeated instantly at the end of the movie without any kind of a battle.  It reminded me of the Fable 2 ending.  It was that bad.

The CGI is borderline bad at times but good at other times.  Medusa looks like she was taken from a sci-fi channel movie.

There is no Poseidon in the entire movie but he is constantly mentioned (WTF?).

Plenty of plot holes (SPOILERS!!!!) like Medusa's eyes being able to turn the Kraken into stone but she can't turn this beast wizard guy into stone.

HUGE WASTE OF POTENTIAL!!!  This reminds me of Terminator: Salvation (not just because of Sam Worthington) but because they didn't deliver what fans and audience wanted.  At all.  Reminds me of the first Hulk movie.  Maybe they will remake the remake in one year like the Hulk.

 Cry
