So happy birthday to Zedblade and Blobbie.

Ubi has launched a new contest.
Categories are "Splinter Cell" and "Community". With the last one, it doesn't matter where it's from. So you can post Halo stuff there. Or Project Stealth. I guess that's ok, because PS is allowed in the Off-Topic forum.

So if anyone wants to make a nice PS wallpaper, or something non-PS related of course, you can read the rules and submit your entry at http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/393107431/m/2901071856 and discussions go to http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/393107431/m/4511071856 .

Just be creative.

If you win in the Ubi contest with a Project Stealth-themed wallpaper or something, which does not offend Ubi (so no extreme sarcasm, but I think a picture of Sam and the PS Spy playing a game of cards is ok etc), you will get a free copy of the famous SCCT Coop videos made by Pretend3r and me. Normal price: around 17.50 $, including international shipping. See http://prerage.com/COinfo.htm for more information.

Public Discussion / Ask-the-Devs
February 21, 2008, 09:04:31 PM
Hi all,

The previous version wasn't exactly how I had planned it, so here's another version.

You can target a particular Dev, who will then try to answer your question personally.
The Dev doesn't need to answer questions he doesn't want to answer.
If it's not possible that the Dev answers, or he doesn't want to answer, I'll tell you.
Over-the-top questions may be deleted.

Some tips on questions:
- Try to keep it PS-related
- Personal questions regarding work or social life and background can also be asked. It depends on the Dev is he wants to answer these or not.
- Try not to go too much off-topic.

Dear fans,

I've been working for around 4-5 months behind the scenes on getting Project Stealth unbanned at Ubi.
I'd like to thank ms-kleaneasy for cooperating and making this possible.

There are a few rules tho:

- Only allowed in Off-Topic.
- Preferably keep it in the thread which I made. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/393107431/m/3661028436
- Signatures and Avatars with PS are allowed, but (see next point)
- Do not advertise. It's their forum, not ours!
- Do not say stuff like 'PS is better than CT' or whatever.

Project Stealth needs to keep a decent reputation of itself on other forums.
Any forum member who gets Project Stealth in trouble by violating these rules at Ubi may risk being banned from the PS forums.  It will be decided upon on a personal basis.

Thank you,

frvge

Public Discussion / Ask-a-Dev. frvge: DONE

Hi all,

In this thread you can post questions regarding me, my work for PS and more.
I'll try to answer as many as possible, but I can leave questions out if I don't like them ;)

I'll answer them in around 1 week.

edit: removed the "Official" because it looks stupid  ;D

STORY
Well, you guys didn't really ask much informational things. Here goes:
I'm an almost 21 year old Computer Science student at Leiden University, Holland, and will start on my Bachelor's Project soon (3rd year).
I love logic and the more mathematical point of things, even if it sometimes isn't my strongest side  ::), but that depends on the course.
I've been into law about technology and copyright/privacy for some time, by carefully reading the latest news on lawsuits and new laws. I also take additional business science courses, like economics and ethics.

Each morning I check PS before i get breakfast. Then off to college, which lasts a few hours (and where I check PS). Back home, it's PS time and I do some work for school or my company (webdevelopment and gameservers). Then it's game time. I play quite some TF2 lately, but you can also contact me for SCCT and ETQW. In between games, I also check PS (yay for dual monitor). Then it's bedtime (around 2am, depending on the next day).

My jobs for PS are:
- producer (scheduling, organization, communication, (conflict) management)
- PR and marketing (deciding on when to release what, keeping moddb and utforums up-to-date, the tick tock threads and more)
- Community Management (getting ideas and tagging them for future usage, moderating)
- legal advice (although I am not a lawyer)
- Quality Assurance/tester (a bit)
- web development (not yet)
- Human Computer Interaction checker (with MacBryce, he's t3h pro!)
- Finance (not yet (if we ever need it...))
- Sponsoring (see finance, but only now I sponsor the bandwidth and the diskspace myself)

Random fact:
I joined PS approximately 3 weeks after it was thought up by MR.Mic/MacBryce etc.

ANSWERS:
Q: What is your social security number and bank details?
A: I'm not allowed to tell you by law.

Q: What are you working on?
A: I'm working on organizing, Quality Assurance, internal communication and scheduling. And a lot more, see the story.

Q: What will you do when PS will be done?
A: Probably busy with my Bachelor's Project then. Or working in the game industry or webdevelopment.

Q: Who is your favorite PS team member?
A: The only who really understands me and usually agrees with me is... me.

Q: How do i log into this Mantis thing?
A: Mantis is our bugtracker. Use the 1337 dev password to access the login page and then your personal password to login. Our current bug status is 4 reported and 2 of those resolved. (still need to verify)

Q: how much would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
A: Twice the half amount

Q: What is your favorite PS trick?
A: Using the fly cheat. I guess that counts as a trick.

Q: What is your favorite PS feature?
A: Graphics and the way the different visions look.

Q: What is your favorite side (spy or merc)
A: Merc, Spy is way too slow now to test stuff. Merc is too fast tho.

Q: What is your favorite PS weapon?
A: The 'walk through non-collisioned fence and fall down' move. AKA: we don't have weapons yet.

Q: Can i be on the team now?
A: When we need another programmer, you're first in line.

Q: What's the answer to life, universe and everything?
A: 42. Everyone knows that.

Q: If I need someone to host a paid game/website server for me, which company would you recommend and can you put ads on this site so other like-minded people may find them too? (I prefer the server be in the Netherlands)
A: I am not advertising my own business here, so no comment. (but if you're really interested, feel free to send me a Private Message :P)

Q: What's the best way to hide a corpse for an extended period of time?
A: Drop it in the water. Don't chop limbs off -> more evidence.

Q: What are you working on now ?
A: These questions, organizing stuff and some legal stuff.

Q: How much time do you spend on working ?
A: I don't keep time. But you can see that I am over 3-4 times as much on the forums doing stuff than the second person (see http://www.projectstealthgame.com/index.php?action=stats ). Besides that, I write email and contact people via instant-messaging. So... an estimate is 3-5 hours a day.

Q: Is there any new feature you've been working on recently ?
A: I organize, other people do the features.

Q: What is, in your opinion, thing you are, as far, most proud of ?
A: The fact that we are where we are in the development.

Q: What will be the biggest obstacle to overcome to get PS to beta stage ?
A: People communicating their schedules to me and having enough progress.

Q: Why do you think Im so great ?
A: Because it's neth, not Neth, kk ?

Q: frvge, what do you like the most about the beta map?
A: We don't have a beta map. The current map is in pre-alpha. I like the ambiance in *gets kidnapped by white rabbits*

*frees himself*
Q: do you love me?
A: No comment

Q: How are the maps coming along?
A: We have one in pre-alpha stage. There are others, but those are still in initial design.

Q: Can you give us an idea of what the theme of the map you guys are working is?
A: Not yet. Well, it's indoor.

Q: When will we see new content ?
A: You just got the whole second Tick Tock-thread... *sigh*

Q: Can you write the whole of pi?
A:

Q: afaik the beta map is inspired by club, isn't it?
A: Assuming you mean pre-alpha map: Yes. It's been altered to change the ambiance and the gameplay.

Q: favorite sex position?
A: no comment.

Q: chicken or the egg?
A: chicken. You can eat more of that.

Q: When do I get my ask me week?
A: Depends, contact me if you want and when you want.

Q: How does it feel to work on PS?
A: It's nice to be able to make your dream come true.

Public Discussion / Small change in policy
December 22, 2007, 02:28:48 PM
Hey guys,

I'll be getting a little bit more modding now that we have some more publicity, so:

- please don't call eachother names.
- please minimize the use of expletives.
- for heated debates, when the previous points aren't met, please take it to a Private Message.

These are guidelines, not rules, but I'd like you all to follow them.
I'll be editing a bit more.

These guidelines will probably fade over time.

All in all, please don't do stuff that might make visitors frown.

Thank you.

Dear Community,

The Project Stealth team would like to thank every member for their voting in the MOTY Awards and for your continuous support. Keep it up guys ; :D ;D

Now that the second phase has started, I'd like to ask everyone to vote at
http://www.moddb.com/events/2007-mod-of-the-year-awards/top100

First, make sure you are logged in. If not, login or register first if necessary. Then scroll down and find "Unreal Tournament 3". Click it and a menu will open. The first option should be Project Stealth. Or else find it in the list. Click the  Vote button on the right and you're done!

What instead of KO-ing the Merc, it extremely motion blurs the screen? Swaying from left to right. Like you're really REALLY drunk. Maybe flashes of green or black. It'd be more like a toxin then, affecting your hearing and vision. Movement will be slowed down a lot. Maybe till 50% or less.

Just brainstorming.

Well it seems like it's been forever since we've been anticipating the release of UT3's build of Unreal Engine 3 for Project Stealth, and now, it's here.

We are proud to announce that Project Stealth has officially begun production. The past couple of months the team has been working up concepts, designs, and assets that will be used in our production with Project Stealth. Now that UT3 has been released in most major parts of the world, we are able to start laying down our foundation in the engine and start developing one of the best concepts for the stealth action genre.

We have some really great stuff planned out for you guys along the development process and we thank you for your continued support with Project Stealth.

Now let the fun begin  ;)
