Mostly old-school happy hardcore, with some Eurodance/trance. And some pop, but not too cheesy stuff.

OH STEVE! That last one was great.

I listen to all genres except the genre I like to call "garbage".

Today I went from blasting Iron Maiden, then chilling to Pink Floyd, to bumping some Tribe Called Quest, Tupac, and Tech N9ne later.

99% of the time I hate techno and electronic music.  1% of the time I'm high, so it doesn't matter.

All this machinery making modern music
Can still be open-hearted.
Not so coldly charted, it's really just a question
Of your honesty, yeah, your honesty.

Spirit of Radio by Rush (above) reflects my views pretty well.  It almost ridicules electronic music but still gives it some credit by saying it "can" be open-hearted.  Some electronic music can be from the heart, but to me it's mostly for the ear - not for the brain.  This goes for all genres of music, and Spirit of Radio can be interpereted in many different ways.  It rings true for hip-hop when they use shit like auto-tune, or rock music when they enhance voices through a computer, or techno music that is just a bunch of sampled songs mashed together for a "cool" beat, etc...

Don't get me wrong, sometimes I just like to have fun.  I don't have to connect with the music on an emotional level at all times.  I listened to some tech n9ne today, and it's something I consider shameless fun.

One likes to believe in the freedom of music,
But glittering prizes and endless compromises
Shatter the illusion of integrity

I hope he stays underground.

That song and the 2 after it on repeat, so damn awesome!

And a huge collection on Spotify.

(I love instrumental soundtracks of games/movies FYI)

I like that line. Just had to be said.

There isn't much music I won't listen to...

That said, Country isn't music.

From Metallica to Maroon 5; Luda to the occasional Britiney Spears; Queen or Reel Big Fish, everything has got a chance in my head. It's all in what I'm feeling like on a certain day. Also what happens to be on whatever I have that plays music. Lately it's been a smash up of: Save Ferris, Reel Big Fish, and Sublime. I think I'll soon be adding some Cake in there soon just to round off that kind of music.

Next week I'll probably move onto another genre. If need be I'll look at a top 40s chart to see what's actually new (I can skip over anything new by Ke$ha. Talking about drinking and glitter in different locations doesn't make for multiple tracks. Just different remixes). Perhaps some classics are in order. Perhaps even some classicAL if I'm feeling awful high brow.

Slightly off topic of my post but... how that Pitbull song "Tonight" (or whoever sings that) got onto any top list of songs (or on the radio) is beyond me. Listening to a person rhyme Kodak with Kodak is just annoying as hell. :P
If you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY good at making a simple response into a wall of text.

I looked up that song just to hear that "rhyme", and it happened within 10 seconds.  I'm shocked at the abysmal-ness.  Funny thing tho, someone in the comment section mentioned it mere seconds before I got there.  So, not all hope in humanity lost.
