Ok so I bought Blacklist for the SOLO and COOP and wasn't disappointed by the crossbow and sleeping gas... very effective, i can sweep an area, K.O. the guards and sneak up on HVT's... good stuff.

Graphics and cut-scenes were pretty great, the whole story first-time-'round was pretty amazing, took a while to get used to controls so i even skipped the first mission, to get to the Paladin and configure my controls (I'm not a WASD player, i use arrows)...

So i finished the Campaign several times and COOP'ed with numerous partners mostly on Briggs' Campaign...

Then i got into SvM, slowly(lol)... there were mostly rank 40+-56 in there and i had no clue what the gear did, vision modes etc...

So i am level 52 or 53 now, i have a solid grasp on what's a good place to hide, how to use my mic and gather my team effectively (i have a really good mic came with my Creative Recond 3D Falat1ty PCIE Champion Sound Card), where the Defenders will be hiding, when to gas and when to mine, etc. When to hack, when to wait, etc.

It's a decent game, bit of a kill fest without the "True Feeling" of Legacy SvM, what with the Remote Hacking and "simple, small" Maps...

I created a Blacklist SvM site called "BlacklistProfessionalGamers.com" for Legends and Newbs to come and group up, mainly for everyone to sift through the community and weed out the cheaters, configure the private matches on PC to cater to the elite, and newer crowd who may not know everything about the game, how the vision modes work as i said, how the Torso "Abilities" work...

link is here: http://www.blacklistprofessionalgamers.com/phpBB3/index.php

And a direct link to the FAQ i set up about Blacklist, rather lengthy explanation of some of Blacklist's confusing aspects for newcomers: http://www.blacklistprofessionalgamers.com/documents/faq.html

Hope it helps for anyone who bought Blacklist because it is closer to the roots in SOLO and COOP than Conviction ever was.

Thanks and Good Luck, the Progress is looking nice, i saw that screen of the spy hacking the PC while his mate was in full-stride ;).

I was playing some Blacklist solo, and was on the "Hacker's Den" map where there are cameras spotted around the industrial zones... Long story short it got me remembering the old days of CT cameras and how i had a difficult time with them while being chased by a merc.

But the point is it made me remember being a merc and on a map like clubhouse or Station, it was sooo easy to spawn camp on the spies, made it almost impossible for spies to get out of the spawn and made the game feel stupid if you know what i mean.

I think every map should have 4-5 spawn points to just wash that all away, so the mercs never know where exactly the spies will spawn and the objectives will become the priority, also merc spawns should be varied just as much so the reciprocal doesn't happen.

Sorry for creating a new thread if this has been discussed before but the last post i seen about spawns was from 2011...

i have found and been using "Any Video Coverter" which is free to use unregistered, and it supports a ton of formats, almost all phone and apple formats, flash .swf, and handles .mkv files, just thought i'd share whilei burn a DvD of "The Dictator" from a rip with it, and have been using it for converting 115MB video files exported from flash for my music into 15MB .swf files for youtube.

So, guys, it's DimzFromKron, Ray Mysertio, Dimmy, whatever you want to call me...

OMFG there is a huge blow-back in response to Ubi's new SvM, Blacklist and Classic Modes are both disasters as far as any Veteran from PT/CT is concerned...

Project Stealth is very much anticipated but the fact remains you are not a Fully-Dedicated, Game Production Studio, and I'm just nudging you guys to tear this one out and rake in the fans...

Hi all, I have: EVGA 015-P3-1480-AR GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card.

I am wondering, since this model is discontinued, can i use in SLI with it: EVGA 015-P3-1480-KR GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card.

There is no difference in memory or clock or RAMDAC or any other spec, so i wonder if i can substitute the KR for the AR that i already have, will this work?

Hi, i have a Creative X-FI Xtreme Music PCI sound card, and was wondering if anyone has a guide to getting ALchemy to enable EAX in the older SC games?

I tried adding to ALchemy the path to the executable for both Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory, but it didn't work. And I am told ALchemy is the only way to enable EAX.

Mind you, I am only trying to enable EAX for the Solo play, not for multi-player (it wouldn't give me an advantage anyways as i've not played much and would still be considered a noob).

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the subject ;).

i've seen some dirty, violent movies lately like The Bourne Series and even the Matrix is born on evil intentions, though always good and evil conflict.

I am wondering if you guys know of any movies about God, in any form befitting Him, that i could watch?

It's called "snow up" due to the fact the material is only applied to speficified heights on the map, creating snow on top or moss underneath, etc.

Amazing and have a use for this, so if anyone knows a tutorial i would love to see it.

A link to previously made work / portfolio / demo reel is not available, except as seen in the Jungle Map, witnessed by Farley Fan and others. Also made the inner circle of the "streets" map from Rogue Spear, Rainbow Six Vegas (1&2) with a snow theme with working snow and amazing bump-offset ice with masking to enable depth simulation within the ice to allow for full spectrum 3d depth where the ice's surface and the bottom of the ice is visible and passes by each other in real time.

Hello, i am back from a long stretch of family gatherings and self-atonement...

Ritual is the way in which men are enlightened, and i propose to work at least 20 Hrs./ Week for PS as a mid level designer.

I have examples of my work but they have been either deleted by my Web Hosting service or lost in crashed HDD's. I have shown examples of my jungle map, which was a sand-box type experiment that would take a GTX 590 to render, due to the openness and demading nature of animated and collision interactive undergrowth, and high poly objects used to test the limits of what can be done. I am confident that a 20% reduction in poly and mesh population will result in a very playable level with a 560Ti, though i would imagine being part of the level design workforce i would take directions rather than go in my own direction, therefore exonerating any need for experimentation any further. I am fully skilled in placing and manipulating meshes, textures, mesh painting, architecture placement and maniplulation, fairly good at lighting and can create and setup sound (foley ambience) and particle FX from scratch and implement well. I work intentionally with subtractive world space ONLY, due to myriad problems with additive world mapping. learned with the help of 3D Buzz as mentioned above, and by navigating Rainbow Six 3 maps in the editor, seeing how each area is carved rather than added.

I am fully prepared to take on a challenge and promise to be most courteous and dutiful in my tasks, taking any direction and constructive criticisms diligently. Please consider giving me a task to test me with, i have been a long time member and while i disagreed with the direction of PS i never fully understood the purpose, until just recently. Ubisoft has abandoned old style gaming and are pursuing a next-generation type of dumbed-down gaming with killing-only type gameplay, sad as it is, i think the fact PS came about is Divine Providence, and has shown itself to be very welcomed by many, many people interested in tactical gaming.

Thanks for the opportunity to apply and i hope to be put to the test, as an old friend (we had our moments) and as new blood, refreshed.

direct x 11 is something i don't know how to enable, and am stuck onn XP atm.

I am starting a map called Abattior, based off of Splinter Cell's Mouke So Bo Meats Map.

i have  a screen using the night sky with mods to brightness:

[edit-added image]

Max Render of Concept, in crappy lighting :S

Still working on making all meshes cast chadows, but that's pretty simple for someone who already knows :P

Have a list of nice features that could make it in, including Cloth Fencing, possibly animated with a damage trigger. Tesellated meshes already in place.

Also no Landmines will be in the Courtyard, just Spotlights that can be damaged and triggered to follow players.

Kind of inspired by the movie Tropic Thunder but Pandora Tm. too.

[EDIT] this has sort of turned into my blog with a bunch of images that dont really look all that nice but illustrate what i am doing, though around pages 5-6 i greatly improved... i have been learning Unreal Editor since 2002, and have working knowledge of all systems in unreal engine 2.x's edit (UEd 3), so i based what i know about 2.x on 3.x and there you have it, but for many things i use http://www.hourences.com/book/tutorialsindex.htm this site to look things up, especially if it's new to me like matinee and particle systems work in UE 3.x.

Public Discussion / Map idea, oldie but good
March 31, 2010, 11:21:33 AM
i was reading through this forum and figured since user(future user?) input is welcomed, how about a map idea?

Underground Rave: PMC are deployed into Moscow to protect a dignitary who enjoys the darker side of life.

the premise of the layout would be ofc the dancing floor, and there could be alot of play in what a map designer could put into the map as far as traps/ switches as the control room for a club is generally pretty extensive. the entire "private" area could be industrial like a warehouse for storage, etc. i find i prefer industrial type maps, but often times they are too much, with little to no "beauty" involved, just concrete walls with paint in places.

i played hitman: blood money religiously and there was a rave club in it, had cool music too. and one of your objectives was to assasinate a Grey-Market player(woman). you could rig the pyrotechnics to the wrong time when she was in front of the flames and set her ablaze... i just figured the whole "drop a box on him man" deal could be applied a' la Aquarius, plus lots of other ideas like maybe retinal scanners for private areas.

that gives me an idea too, but it seems unlikely as gameplay has been thought about already and im sure the fun factor will be great, but maybe spies could grab a merc and force him to use the retinal scanners.

General / Off-Topic / BF: Bad Company 2= Awesome game
February 08, 2010, 01:53:47 PM
i preorded bc2 because i played BF2 and i liked the innovation and the way they stick to realism, at least in the major overall feel. the BETA looks just so much nicer than BF2 with better mapping techniques and layout, along with the experience of playing in combat. BETA access unitl Feb.25th is available with preorder from D2D and Steam.

modern warfare 2 sucked big floppys compared tho this, i have thought about it and MW2 needs a facepalm from around the globe LOL.

General / Off-Topic / DiRT 2 - anyone play it?
January 18, 2010, 07:53:35 AM
i for one think its a phenomenal game with realism mixed with sort of acrade is what people say, it simulates driving without full technicals of spinning out at starts- adrenaline rising game.

and i wanted anyone with DiRT2 to check out my Team America World Police skin (btw the game has horn unlocks and a [world]police siren is one of them LOL:

Car: Hummer H3 Raid T1 Truck
Livery: Team America World Police

download can be found here: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/dirt-2-game-pc-1313/401586-dirt-2-skinning-31.html ... scroll down a bit there are 2 versions as well, on for h3 and hx

i treasure your friendship.

ps. i got my pc sorted the new gfx card runs flawlessly for hours, havent tested it in games for more than 4-5 though, been learning how to skin in Codemasters' recent racing games.

just reading through the december UDK Beta release notes, wow so mappers can build farm areas and tallgrass/ bamboo jungle in UDK with about as little performance hit as a static mesh...

plus native C++ code and dll function calls sounds good eh?

btw does PS use fracture meshes? want to know because it takes 60% of the time out of building destructable environment assets.
