Post by: WTaFa(Wraith) on December 25, 2013, 12:22:43 AM
Dear Project Stealth Community!

Please, visit Project Wiki (http://thief-haven.com/project-stealth).

It need your critique and recommendations.

First could be done in comments, second - with the help of social bookmarks with easy.

Of course, you shouldn't recommend anything, if you would see something incorrect on pages about Project Stealth. The same goes if you could tell me, what should be improved also.

Show you loyalty:

Current wiki content was taken from your posts and comments, dear devs and fans. Big thank to everyone who shared own ideas back in past!

Still there are a lot of things that could be added to wiki. I checked only All Big Media-Releases (http://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/index.php?topic=2894.0) sources. Advices about what should be added to Project Stealth pages are welcome.

We all know the guy who is responsible for keeping these forums and official web site alive. My small project couldn't be done without hard work of the official PR man. Nice job, Frvge! Keep it going and don't forget to tell us what useful stuff we could do, ok?

Another call for you, gents and lads, will be invite to unofficial PR team for PS.

Still the best option is to add your review to the web site specialized in game industry.

Project Stealth wiki could also accept and use another unusual user submissions. I'm talking about
What ideas for these community tools do you have?

Let's see how creative (http://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/index.php?topic=3426.msg66514#msg66514) we could be.  ;D

The game essentially just got delayed again, and we're trying to put up a wiki?

I would not call mercs "slow". It makes them look weak. And depending on the map, they were not even slow. Rather "inflexible", while Spies are flexible, as they are able to move in the 3rd dimension.

Spies are weak but flexible, Mercs are strong but inflexible. It is not speed vs strength, but rather agility vs strength.

Thank you for the tip, Meister_Neo! I used your advice. But I have an additional question. Spies are athletic as we know. 'Athletic' is not equal to 'strong'?

The answer was already given in the first post:

  • Together we could keep Project Stealth wiki in effective up-to-date status. For sure such efforts could be presented to numerous web sites for gamers and gamedevs over the Internet.
  • Also you could submit own articles to Project Stealth wiki. Then recommend added content with the help of social bookmarking or game forums.

Still the best option is to add your review to the web site specialized in game industry.
Also check another pages in wiki. For example http://www.thief-haven.com/project-stealth/developer-team:
QuoteYes, we had sometimes a problem in allocation.

People either were just too busy, other people lack willingness/motivation.

That's the reason why we looked for new talents constantly.
So we should bring more attention to the Project cos new calls (UE4) were met.

To kill a merc by grabbing him, a spy needs to fulfill 2 conditions:

1. Get near the merc
2. Get the merc from behind.

These conditions are necessary to make the game fair, else the spies are too strong. The 1st condition is given by the fact that spies have no lethal weapons that would allow them to attack the mercs. The 2nd condition is given by the fact that mercs are supposed to win any frontal 1on1 fight, which forces the spy to retreat, or to taze the merc, trying to get past him. Maybe spies are "strong", but in a frontal fight, the mercs are "stronger". In SC:CT these condition must even be met when trying to jump the merc, as a merc can defend himself by beserking or aircharging the spy. The only killstyle that does not fulfull these conditions are the "environment kills", e.g. killing mercs by tazing his own mine while he is near it, however that is more dependent on luck or the merc's own stupidity.

Also you can refer to almost anyone that does much sports as "athletic", however there are different kinds of muscles that you can train and also different kinds of skills that you can learn. A gymnast has a lot of muscles, but that does not mean a gymnast is a good martial artist. A spy is skilled at assassinations and acrobatics, why the merc is a pro at using guns and hand to hand combat. SC:CT showed what kind of monsters mercs were, blocking a midair spy with his martial arts. SC:B brings them into a sequence where they are unable to do anything and are just doomed to watch how the spy jumps them, until the merc himself is dead.

These reasons almost make the wiki idea more ridiculous, to be honest.

http://www.thief-haven.com/project-stealth is not official web site, but still pretend to have more up-to-date information then http://www.projectstealthgame.com
Overall http://www.thief-haven.com is about Stealth genre in Online Multiplayer.
So how could be called pages about Project Stealth which were placed here - http://www.thief-haven.com/project-stealth ? 'wiki' still the best word. Propose another if you have.

Also I have plans to submit to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Stealth some information from http://www.thief-haven.com/project-stealth .

AgentX_003, you saw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Stealth.

Could you also check http://www.thief-haven.com/project-stealth ?

How do you think what portion of information could be submitted to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Stealth?

Everyone should be honest.  Could you expand your point more wisely?
