General / Off-Topic / The good old times
« on: July 13, 2014, 09:07:06 PM »
I rememeber, way back, I actually had to google to find out how long back - actually 2005, over 9 years ago. That's insane, has time really driven by that fast? I get all nostalgic by writing this post, and somehow sad inside.

TIME GOES SO FAST!
So, way back the year of 2005. Little me, tried the beta of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, I got so hooked! I never tried any game like this before, and wow, it was so funny!
The 2 week beta down period before the game was released, it lasted for ages. I just longed to play the game once again.

Suddenly, 2 weeks went by, I started playing the game, it was just as fun as I imagined. One fun part of this game was that you easily could know whom you were playing against due to what kind of playstyle you had, especially when facing a team. It was really hard to actually "smurf", as people recognised right away who I/we were. I remember one  big moment, such a coincidence. The day I joined S.a.S, it wasn't "official" yet, but I was smurfing around, and someone wrote like "omg you're S.a.S" and I was like "how do you know?" "I can see it on your playstyle" the aggressive playstyle with fast sticky cams. I had alot of more good memories, beating many of the "big names" as a newcomer. Was always fun when playing night times and suddenly some of the legends from Ck popped on the server.

I must say, me and Frelli together had so many good moments with all of you guys out there, many late late nights. It's just sad it's all gone. Our only hope is you, Project Stealth. I must say, I'm really thankful for all your hard work, and I hope it will work out in the end. So I can, as a fully grown adult, play the game and become a child again, like old times.

Public Discussion / Upload SCCT Versus folder please
« on: November 17, 2013, 09:56:59 AM »
Hey guys.
So, I have a problem, I can not launch SCCT.
I have not been able to play it due to bad router (ports and stuff)
But now I was forced to buy a new one as my old one stopped working, so I was in the mood for some SCCT.
But, it can not be launched. I have my own key, but not a working CD. So for past years I had people uploading versus folder for me, and it worked perfect.

So, anyone who knows where I can download, if not, can someone upload?
Would be really kind of you.

Thanks.

General / Off-Topic / Can't play SCCT - ports
« on: May 31, 2013, 08:33:51 AM »
So, I have a bad router/modem that I got from my netprovider (even paying for this one a small amount)
Thomson TG789vn

It doesn't have DMZ, or anything like that. I opened all ports, and disabled firewall on Windows7. Yet, I can not join ANY game at all in SCCT.
What more can I do? I won't buy a router for 40-50€ just to play SCCT, even though I really want to play.

General / Off-Topic / Anyone have a Creative key?
« on: August 15, 2012, 07:48:45 PM »
So, anyone got this?
I need one so I can get creative drivers for my intergrated card. I could pay a little bit for it if someone got one they don't need. (Like if you have 2 creative cards and one is not in use anymore)

General / Off-Topic / Set a date for playing CT
« on: August 08, 2012, 09:54:46 AM »
What about bringing about the activity in SCCT for just a few hours?
It would be so fun playing with all of you again!

So let's set a date where all of us play for a few hours. (Probably somewhere late night in EU so it's morning in US or the opposite)
Hopefully there's some interest in this. And play with real names ofc so you know who you're playing.

General / Off-Topic / I want to play SCCT
« on: August 01, 2012, 11:39:37 AM »
Btw, hey you all! It's been a long time. Too bad PS ain't progressing much anymore..

However, I got one problem - My SCCT CD is kinda broken. So if anyone could upload the "Versus" folder so I could play it - it would be great!
It will work, I remember the polish user "Jacob" did this for me way back, and it worked great. But now I'm up for some great SCCT gaming!

Or is anyone even playing that anymore? Is it possible to find games?

I move the mouse in a straight line, but aim is REALLY curvy. Impossible to aim. Though when I got sniper up, it's like it should...
Anyone got a clue or had the same problem?

Got Windows7 as operating system, if it makes any difference. And only CT give me this problem.

General / Off-Topic / Creative key
« on: December 15, 2010, 09:19:02 PM »
Hi.

Some of you might remember my problem that I can't get EAX to work, however I did get it to work (as I think I wrote) however, to my problem.

Now it gone over 30 days and my evaluation period is over. So I need a creative key to get it to work again.. So I wonder if someone here has a key they don't need and don't mind giving me, it would be great.

Thanks.

Public Discussion / Anyone still playing SCCT?
« on: November 04, 2010, 07:31:31 PM »
Hi guys.

Long time since I last wrote anything here, I still look here from time to time to see how you all are doing with PS.

But now I wonder - anyone still play SCCT (of the known users)? I kinda miss the "old times" with SCCT.

Presentation Forum / How is the developing going?
« on: March 12, 2010, 01:37:26 PM »
So, kinda low on updates and statements about the development.

What have you been up to recentely? And how close are we to a beta, or even the full release? What do you have left in developing before game can be released?

Curious!

So, I've got a english assignment which I really don't understand or can do.. so I hope someone here is really good and can help me it with so many examples as you want. It's max 5 but like 2-3 would be great, all 5 would be even greater though..

Here's the thing I should do:

"Using examples from the very same story above, explain briefly what is meant by any five (neither more nor less) of following: a) clear /I) b) dark /I/ c) glottal stops, d)  aspiration, e) assimilation, f) elision, g) intrusive /r/, h) devoicing, i) honophones, j) homopgrahs, k) reduction of unstressed syllables, i) weak forms, m) strong forms, n) secondary stress, o) stress in compounds"

Remember, you can pick any of these example and it should be a total of five.. I hope someone can help me cause this text took me a really long time to write... :)

Here's the story:
The day the letter arrived, I was due in court on the intricate case of Melchett versus the Vatican, which was coming to a delicate and potentially explosive stage. THe letter then came as a welcome diversion, and I tipped the delivery boy out of the window with more than ordinary genorosity. Even then I fancy I gave a momentary shudder as I unfolded the letter. But it was a cold morning and, in accordance with Mr Tulkinghorn's instructions with regard to Melchett versus the Vatican, I was naked. The letter read as follows:
If Mr John Lawson-Particle will travel immediatly to Transylvania as the honoured guest of Count Dracula, to personally advise his Excellency on a matter of great legal delicacy, Mr Lawson-Particle will be handsomly remunerated. He is to  bring on his journey: no garlic, no crucifixes, no wooden stakes. Neither is he to look up in a dictionry the word 'vampire'.
It seemed innocent enough. Excited at the prospect of escpaing a dreary London August, I rushed into Mr Tulkinghorn's office. He read the letter trough, and eyed me carefully. Then he looked at my face.
"You don't find anything strange in this letter, Mr Lawson-Particle?"
"Ah, you noticed it too, sir: the split infinitive in the first sentence, yes."
"No, I was thinking... Never mind.. You plan to go on this suic... on this fascinating journey?"
"with your permission, sir, I will go straight home, dress, and take the first train to Southampton."
Four days later saw me standing at the gates of Castle Dracula, weary and travel-stained. Prudence has demanded that I leave her behind, so I was alone. Night was just falling as I knocked on the mighty oaken door and heard the asnwering echoes ring trough the castle. After what seemed a cliché, iron bolts were drawn back, the portal swung open, and Count Dracula's manservant stood before me. Of all the hideosuly disfigured sepctatles I have ever beheld, those perched on the end of this man's nose remain forever pasted into the album of my memory.
Bowing low, this loathsome wretch introduced himself:
"Travolta, sir, at your servile. If you will follow me, I shall tell the Master you arrived."
Walking with a promounced limp - L-I-M-MP, prunounced limp - he showed me into a waiting room.. - sorry, into a waiting-room - and vanished. Presently, he returned with his master.
"Ah, Mr Lawson-Particle", cried the Count. "Welcome to Castle Dracula! Dinner is in half an hour if you would care to change. We could leave buisness untill tomorrow. Travolta will show you to your room. Tell me, what blood type are you?"
"Eh?"
"I said ' What blood type are you'"
"Oh", I said. "B."
I tried to question Travolta as I dressed for dinner. I asked him the nature of the Count's buisness, but he made the sign of the cross and said nothing. I asked him why there were no mirrors in the castle, but this time he made the sign of the very cross indeed and spat. This was puzzling. I couldn't see myself spending a month in a house without mirrors. The man was either mad or both.
"Cape on for dinner, sir." said Travolta as we descended the vast stairway.
"Capon? yummy!" I replied.
"No sir. The count always insist that his guests put a cape on for dinner."
And what a dismal repast it was. I passed a fitful night in my vast bedroom. Below me I could hear the Count's footsteps echoing in the hallway.
I arose early, made my toilet, sat on it and then came down to breakfast. Travolta informed me that his master had gone to bed at dawn and would expect me in his study later that evening. It was a dreary morning. The greatest excitement I had to look forward to was the prospect of a total eclipse of the sun, which was expected during the afternoon. When the time came, I watched trough a fragmente of smoked glass at the moon slid slowly across the surface of the sun and darkness shrourded the Earth. I startled at a sound behind me.
By the dim light of a candle I had prudently placed on the table, I could see that it was Count Dracula, my client. He seemed a little excited. A tendril of spaghetti appeared to be protruding from either side of his mouth.
"Why, good afternoon, Count" I cried. "I wasn't expecting you untill this evening. Have you come to enjoy the spectacle?"
"spectacle?"
"the solar eclipse"
He looked out of the window.
"Solar eclipse?"
"yes - it's the first total eclipse I've ever seen. Exciting, isn't it?"
"oh shit!"
"Is there something wrong, Count?"
"How much longer is it going to last?" he cried, and I could see the fear in his blood-red eyes.
"well, it's just ending now." I replied. "Look at that. Splendid, isn't it?"
I turned in time to watch the moon moving slowly away from the sun, and light once more flooding the scene.
"Have you ever seen anything so... Oh. Count?"
But he dissaperad, leaving his cape behind him. In his hurry, he must have upset the ashtray on the floor beside it.
I never saw him again.

General / Off-Topic / About going to USA
« on: November 26, 2009, 06:41:21 PM »
Hello.

So, I've been thinking about going to USA for about 1 years time this summer.

I could first explain why I want to do this and why I write it here:
I'm a bit tired of Sweden and I'd like to try something new and learn to be independent and be able to stand on my own legs. And also learn a new culture, and see a new enviroment and such. I atleast think this would be a really fun adventure. Nice way to get away from Sweden now just after i'm finnished with studies, else if I'd get a job I would probably never be able to get this opportunity again.. So this summer is probably my best chance of doing it. And no, I will not live there by myself, would be with some friends that also join this trip.

However, my question to you who live in the US is:
What should I think of before? I'm allowed to stay there for like a year and get a job there without getting a greencard f.e, right? As I don't plan to stay there forever. And what do you think would be best city/state to go to?

Would like some nice warm climate with nice nature, not too hard to get a job. And a pretty nice city, not like a ghetto... :)

Thanks

General / Off-Topic / Series
« on: November 25, 2009, 10:34:12 PM »
So, as I was bored today I started to watched a series called "V" - the one made in 2009 - I believe.

I must say it's really great, and I'm already kinda stuck to it after 4 episodes.. Kinda annoying though that ABC only made 4 testepisodes or something like that, so it will continue in march, great! Will have forgotten all about it when it finally come new ones (if so)...

So let's discuss all new and old series here which you all like.. Would be glad to find some new ones I can watch on boring days :)

Other series I've watched and liked:
LOST, Prison Break, Jericho, Flash Forward, Two and a half men, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, One Tree Hill, The OC, Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, Dexter, How I met your mother, The Office and Entourage.

Quite alot :D
