When I meant easy controls, I mean: to perform a strike, you simply have to be close from a player and strike. The lunging move will automatically aim toward your enemy and perform a general damage what means... no difference if you aim or not the head = easy & noob.

You have a sword? Same thing...
Anyway I'm not going to start a halo debate, it would never end.

That's good though. Melee shouldn't be especially difficult in a gun game. The difficult part is getting close enough.

Who the hell are you to affirm that? There is no difference between melee and shooting, both are using aiming and fire. Making it the way Halo did is just breaking in two parts the fun factor behind this by also destroying to two type of players close-combat and long-range players.

For sure I see what you mean with no more explanations lol... other than not even close.
Please continue... lol

The radar is a big factor for camping, what isn't about the weapons.

Non-radar gametypes?  Besides, radar was overpowered anyways.  Tracks any slight movement.  The ultimate camper tool - he can tell when people are sneaking up on him and counter their movement.  Therefore the only way to stop a camper is to get an anti camping weapon (Fast vehicles like ghosts, another sniper) and any smart camper is going to be watching those things through the scope of his weapon if he can.  It's not just snipers that camp, it's people with weapons like swords and hammers.  What?  Are you gonna rush in that room and clear them with an assault rifle or hope you get lucky with nades?  Only way to counter that is with other weapons found around the map like a shotgun - and usually the other team members are going for them as well as you.

Well, I DO agree with you on what you said here though:

Halo isn't that much of a gun only game at all.  Vehicles, melee, grenades, and equipment as well as guns.  None of this is too hard to achieve.  But it's hard to achieve against smart human players.

Now that this has gotten SOOO incredibly off topic, we should probably get back on topic.  Not much to discuss though.  I'd prefer it like it is because it's 1 less thing for the devs to worry about.  Only difference I'd like to see is make the rails thinner in places where you don't want a spy to easily balance, or make them round so they slide off.  It would make it easier for map makers although just a bit.

Hyrage

Yeah I was totally off-topic, sorry.

Well there is another option on rail walking! It would become as a kinda mini-game where there is a bar that slowly goes to the left or to the right noting the balance of the spy! The player could influence this bar with pressing left and right keys(The closer to the center the faster the spy would walk).
If the spy starts to fall down from the rail there should be a way for the spy to grab and hold onto the rail(most likely with button press), but grabbing onto the rail would make some noize so the mercenaries would know something ain't right! Though the spies are most likely great athletes and acrobats I don't think that they could then pull up the rail and continue walking(All though it might be possible! otherwise the spies could just lean on the rail sideways while hanging from it!)

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

IMO that would be nice in a singleplayer game, where time doesn't really matter.

Gawain

mini-games in mp suck. rail-walking/camping is also np for the spy side balance-wise, but for the merc side...

LennardF1989

Looking at the mini-game idea with an artistic point of view, it's a good idea and also nicely thought out (like the sound it makes to the merc). Gameplay wise, it just wouldn't work out.
