Whats a real pisser is either a spy/merc running through a door that happens to be closing. You continue to go forward until what?....you die b/c you warped all the way back to the closed door. I'm sure its a server issue, but it is definitely a real problem...especially when you MADE IT THROUGH THE DOOR.

Other example: diving through a hallway only to warp back behind the wall you once stood.

Ct is very sensitive to ping.  It just the nature of the kind of gameplay.  1/2 a second time delay in Ut is not as noticable  as it is in CT where timing is crtical.

When I say roll into vents did you think I meant from the ground? Like I said, I mean falling from jumps, rolling off a ceiling, etc.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

Sry i don't get rollling off a ceiling - wallwalking??

Let's say... if you're 100 units in height, and for some magical reason, your smallest ball/roll forum is 30 units.
The vent's height is just slightly heigher than you: 40 units. You're going down with a speed of, let's say, 450 units per second because of gravity. (assuming 100 units is 2 meters, and gravity is 9 m/s^2).

You can hit for 10 units (from 40-10 to 30-0). Hitting above 40 and below, you're blocked by the wall. Which means you're timing needs to be in a 450 units=1 second so 10=1/45th of a second. Which is 0.022 second. To hit that is so unlikely, that I say: forget about it.

Lennard, when someone says fluid movement it means just smooth movement.  Liquid smooth  :D

At fluid movement, hell yes.  I know grabbing ledges should be much better than CT's system, but I'm talking about something else.  I hate when you grab a ledge, then pull yourself up, then there's that distinct pause.  Like you can't move for a fraction of a second and you are frozen.  Know what I'm talking about?  I want to go from animation to running.  After every single animation it seems like you are paused for a second until it is ready to execute the running animation.  That's what I mean by fluid movement, like in DA, how everything seemed to flow smoothly while jumping/escaping.
Well duh, just when I read fluid movement at first, I was like "fluid? Wtf" :P

VaNilla

Well im not going to convince you then Frvge, but it was just a suggesstion, and the one I said about your feet landing on the edge of the vent and being able to crouch from there, sucks too I guess :/.

I still unsure of the meaning of his first post. I just dont get it.

frvge

It's just not physically possible. Unless you partially slide in, like the moves in SCDA. But I don't even see it as a nice-to-have. It's a "nice-to-have-if-we-got-nothing-else-to-do-and-are-bored" :P

So it's an interesting idea, but I don't see the added value. And it's unrealistic and it would cost more development time.

This is a redundant thread, we've talked about autograb before. We will do what we can to make it as easy as possible to grab when you want and not to grab when you don't.

Farley4Fan

It is pretty redundant come to think of it.  Lock?  I still would like to talk about smooth movement though.  Transitioning from climbing to running should be instantaneous.

When I saw the title I thought will the animations fit together neatly like in DA rather than in CT where it was all very rigid. :P

Im not saying disable autograb (although that should be done), I'm saying that you should be able to travel correctly and not be blocked off by the 'invisible walls' that seem to be present when you fall or gain past things like vents, and I was just saying the way I think is good to go about fixing that problem with. I wasn't talking about the grabbing problem I was talking about not being able to 'fall into' vents and gaining into etc.

Strange Lennard :P.

why english is messed up so much!
