I think the solution to that is to use some visions, an adjustable flashlight (put it on the widest setting), and make the flares actually work.  These are suggestions for PS, not for you lol

Splinterfactor8

lol then holding a flare could really help

the reason i talk about the flares was because just recently i was playing CT at Shemrehorn and at certain places i would need to use a flash light but it didnt help

pardon me if i said the name of the level wrong

thats what laser is for

Hitting the Spy with a flare to inflict MASSIVE DAMAGE.
And then use REAL-TIME WEAPON CHANGE.

Have you guys decided whether or not to make the flashlight adjustable?  I think that's a feature that should be included for sure.  It would help in those drowning dark areas.

Splinterfactor8

i still think the flare idea is better then the adjustable flashlight

To boost flares all you need to do is make the maps darker, and they will be.  Or so I hear.

to kinda build upon that, i think that if you decide to use flares then flashlight is disabled,  forcing the merc  to conserve his flares and not use both... which is what made the flare pointless..

Made no sense.

How does that make any sense to  have 2 light sources ? .... the flashlight stays on all the time

so have the flashlight disabled when your using flares , you have to conserve  , and when your out of them, its just you and the spy alone in the dark xD

By "makes no sense" why the hell would a flare cancel out a torch?

How about holding the mouse button down long enough (or ALT fire?) and the flare just sticks on top of your gun giving you 360 proximity light. It could be good for signalling, the downside is it gives away your position even more. Don't make you hold it up above your head like SP characters did, there were enough animation glitches in CT , and although im sure Lennard is better than UBI, It could still happen.

initial idea was if you take flares you sacrifice your flashlight so thus you can't use both.

That's not building on my opinion to boost flares, that's nerfing them if you can't take flashlight with them.

Because then taking the flares actually gimps you, because flares are worse than the flashlight. That's a heavy nerf to flares, a gadget that already sucks badly.
