Do you guys forget that motiontracking also detects light and dark? Dark is red; light is black. Wouldn't it make sense for a flashbang to make the motionvision screen entirely black? I was always sick and tired of mercs whoring that vision, because it countered flash, smoke, and just about everything else.
The flashbang afterimage is because the light is burned into your eyes; not the visor.
I don't see how you could burn a black image into someone's eyes.

However, I do like the approach that Invisibleman has proposed.
I suppose you make sense. But that's only because I don't know how actual vision vs. light mechanics would ever work. All I'm saying is that, since motiontracking detects light and flashbangs produce a lot of that light, that the visor should be completely covered in black. It's not blinding the merc per se, but overdoing the light detection on the visor. As such it would make perfect sense for a merc to switch from motion to standard, and be able to see just fine.

It's like looking at the sun with glasses on, it still hurts. I think its impossible for a balck imagine to burn into your eyes though.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

How about this:
- Flash disables visions (could be enabled before a second flash because of the drop delay - promoting teamwork here)
- Flash disrupts hearing, and mercs are unable to snipe because of balance loss (hard to stand still). OR instead of disabling snipe, you could just make view to be thrown around like mad.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

I had one... before you ate it.

Fruitless Man

No, you never had one. Polish people don't come with them.

Take it to SCLamers guys, this will be ending in World War 3...

oh i'm so sorry, i misread the 2nd sentence my darling ;)
but your first sentence makes absolutely no sense anyways :P

LennardF1989

Did I already said this is ending in World War 3? Stop it... SCLamers link is at the bottom of this very page.

Moving things along here...

Ya i totally agree with Savior that there should be a flash of black in the mercs visor .
I myself have thought its lame that motion protects against flashbangs when really it shouldn't
because as i mentioned earlier, the electro magnetic field vision , is what truly protects against it.

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

cut the crap agent  ::)

this thread can die cause mr.mic will do it right anyways  ;D

Motion Detector detects *gasp* motion. It's not SCCT's uber-nightvision anymore.

It'll probably work against Flash, but I think we can implement some kind of 'wave' effect which distorts the vision. No blinding, just the effect of a shockwave. Heck, it detects the motion of the air particles or w/e ;)
Just brainstorming.

On-topic now.

Yeah, no need to worry about blinding a merc in MT if the motion whore problem is dealt with in the first place.
