Ok one thing i don't understand is about certain panel hacks, like ie. Clubhouse, if
the panel down stairs hacks electrical , why do the cameras stay on , i think if
they do have that same hack in lake house that, it should turn off the cameras as well because in theory
the camera is an electrical device so it should be disabled when hacked. With this in mind mercs will not take it for granted anymore and shy away from guarding it.

Its all about proper balance, not realism and this is the reason why cameras stay turned on after hacking. Also, you can usually try to guess where the spy is hacking, so its not that mercs can't do anything.

Here's my rant:

I'm always astounded when people complain of realism in CT.  It's funny seeing people theorize how it "should be" in order for things to be more "realistic."  The best aspect about these people is how they normally show a complete lack of knowledge on how things work realistically.  Better yet, these same people usually demonstrate zero-imagination when it comes to theoretical possibilities involving certain aspects of CT.  For example, just because you hack a terminal and it causes "Electrical system overload," do all electrical systems have to be tied to the same one?  What about fuses?  When a fuse blows out in your house, do all fuses blow out for everything else that requires electricity?  No, they don't.  It's not like the word "hack" is some magical, end-all solution.

I'm not arguing against the notion of having the cameras be tied in with the electrical systems, I'm just arguing against your lack of imagination.

Are there fuse boxes dispersed throughout your house or in one central location? Isn't there 1 lever to cut all breakers? I can understand the "imagination" you speak of, but electrical should kill electrical...or be noted otherwise.

If the electrical panel hack shuts off the electrical system then i think for realistic purposes the entire building should go black and even the objective computers should power down. The elevators should be disabled too. Maybe then some emergency lights can come on and direct the people out of the building.

My point isn't really based on a fuse box -- that was just mentioned to stimulate some thinking on how it could be applied to the hackable terminal.  My main point is that we're dealing with something a bit more complicated than a fuse box.  Let's just imagine that the spy has to be quick with his sabotage so he can only disable certain parts of the electrical system.

with that being said, like this wouldn't be needed for the cameras if the chaff fields were a bit bigger enough to touch the motion sensor / camera, but in the case of chaos theory Ubi failed on that.

I illustrated the point a couple years ago by posting real pictures of people shot in the head on Ubi.com.

I was banned, the pictures were removed, and people stayed ignorant :(.

Didn't someone make an idiotic decision that chaff shouldn't go through walls?

LOL, I like Agent... he makes me laugh. His dedication to the SC community has been plentiful... though at times he seems to drive everyone crazy and is 99% angry all the time.

Anywho... Agent...
I work in the construction industry, we've worked on projects at the United Nations & National Security.

Believe it or not... Most security systems are tied in to a proprietary isolated system.  So when spies hack the rest of the buildings power the cams still work... (thats not the real reason)

Anywho
A lot of buildings these days have battery backed up lights such as exit signs and stairwell lights so people know where to go in case of a fire/power outage... or... dare I say it... a spy attack
