I actually liked SC:C in the conference. My only concern is that it's more assault than stealth. IF we can still play the beautiful dark levels 100% stealth, I'm happy.

In a developer interview it was confirmed that you can 100% ghost through a level. Some places have forced action, in which you will kill someone but that's just as with most of the other games in the series. Hopefully they'll reduce the ridiculous amounts of health he has at the moment.

and zed is right. i mean if sc:c is like the chaos theory multiplayer, with new maps and a few new eq, it will probably be better. and it looks as if ubi are listening so hopefully we will have good old SVM back...
there is not a single great multiplayer game by ubisoft, and i certainly won't buy anymore ubi games. even if they try to bring back svm ct style ps will own the crap out of it as it is made and updated by veteran pc players.

That gameplay video look spretty cool. I hope the whole game isn't like that, the run and gun theme.
If they pull it off it may be worth getting. Although it likely won't be an issue for some time. What are the odds the PC player will have to wait a year after the XBox release.

Well it made me lol.

I have to say when i saw conviction i loved it. However in a different way to the other splinter cells. tis splinter cell felt more like an action movie than a stealth game. But still it looks great to me. :)

convictions will have more levels and (hopefully) better support (purely because they can release new patches faster). PS beta will have bugs in it...probably far more than sc:c will have. Convictions will have more levels and if ubi stick to the ct style of SVM, i dont see why it wouldn't be as good as PS or better. They obviously know how to do it, because PT and CT where awesome, so ur argument about actual ct players is redundant. The reason why DA was fucked up wasn't because of poor implementation. It was just a shit idea.

Im sure if the PS dev team was told to make double agent, it would also be shit, because its just a sucky idea.

The Ubisoft Press Conference also shown the same level as in the E3 Press Conference, and they basically did the same as at E3, but they did go a bit slower and they did make mistakes, and the way you can deal with that seems faithful to stealth. Also, after listening to the guy presenting the Ubisoft Press Conference, he says you 'mark' and then you 'execute', if you think about this, what he might be trying to say is that you mark out what you're going to do (eg. shoot light first, then shoot a gaurd) and then you execute the process. Maybe it isn't just 'auto-aim' after all :). But who knows, I could be wrong about the whole thing and they could have dumbed everything down completely but we'll see :P.

Hate to double post but just to bump it up a little bit, check out Gamespots article on Conviction, by clicking here. Seems like I was right about Mark and Execute, and also it has been confirmed that "Third Echelon's chief analyst Anna Grimsdottir is back again in a support role".

Still not getting this game. Animations are quite similar to CT. I would expect them to be more fluid. Also, I don't play single player. Looks like the same old bullshit.

does anybody see the comparison in narrative :/ ?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSU43H1LYGs&feature=related  with that and Convictions :/  ?

imo they sound very similar.

In this video they're playing the game and in the bottom left it says you have to press A to go to the next bit of cover, it was whilst close to another pillar so maybe the swat move is back? It also says to jump over a ledge that you press A to jump it, so it looks like you have to press A to perform moves like that now instead of jumping over.

There's also a bit of extended gameplay that can be viewed here, login to watch it. I'm watching it in a second and will post thoughts :P.

If you watch the extended gameplay video from Ubisoft, whilst hanging from a ledge it shows on the HUD that you must press X (this is the Xbox) to pull the gaurd over, and when Sam is by an object he can stand on, it displays 'jump' for A so I assume that all context sensitive movements are now controlled by the A button. However, no controls like that come up for opening a door.

However, when Sam approaches the door the words 'open door' appears hovering over it, with a right arrow symbol next to it. Also, the symbol for an arrow pointing down is shown for using the broken mirror beneath the door. Maybe they have changed the control scheme so that they can separate each set of commands to different parts of the controller. I think this would allow for faster paced gameplay (which is what they are goiing for) and this seems very useful to me because I've never liked having to hold A and scroll to pick an action.

Update: I was watching Gamespot interviewing two of the guys working on it here and I heard this.

Gamespot "What about all the rest of the trick stuff he used to have?"
Maxime Béland "You'll get all your favourites back. Don't worry"

I also heard this.

Maxime Béland "He's gonna mark the guy and the light, and then execute" so that's how that works ;).
Maxime Béland "The Y button is your execute button, but if you don't hold that you don't get the slow motion" Thank god for that, don't want slow motion all the time, looks like they're thinking this through, but this also means that Y is definitely no longer jump :).

Also displayed on the HUD is the right trigger whilst he's hanging from the window as the right shoulder button to jump, which again seems like a great change to me because you don't have to take your hand off any face button to do it. Another thing is a gaurd approaches Sam in the Gamespot demo, and Sam disarms him and moves him to a bodygaurding position, that's really cool :).

Update 2: Taken another look at the gamespot article, an found two things. "Ubisoft hinted that it's possible Sam will reenter Third Echelon at a later part of the game." "When asked if Sam's trademark three-sensor night-vision goggles make a return, Conviction's creative director Max Beland was coy, saying that whilst he doesn't have them, some of the enemies he encounters have similar night goggles. We're hoping they can be taken from the cold corpses left in his wake."

Snakebit.

Yes. Just the game i was expecting it to be and beyond. Splintercell with the mix of hitman in it . Obviously worth even 100 Euro ..... Really better what i expected , not to get on anyones case , but i wasn't so negative about sc:c from the beginning but this is deffinately better what i expected . I thought its gonna be just hitman like crowd stealth but now it is actually hitman + good old splinter cell.

Really , now the only thing i am hoping for is a multiplayer .

On the side note Sc:c is going to be a true game ! Unlike Double agent! Which i hope will make the franchise a bit more known than it is today. The only things which are worrying is the amount of Bugs ? and Lags ? and game requirments ?
