browsing other forums it came to my eye that most got an "introduce yourself" section and i realized that i only know like 10 folks of the ct/ps community closer, so let's get to know each other a little. i suggest that we go like first name, age, profession, hobbys, etc.

> Tristan, 20, physics student, music/martial arts/strategy games

ps: i really wonder about agentx's job xD
pss: maybe we should include virgin status to see who fails at rl and to give agent some1 to flirt with
psss: any1 here doing hang-gliding?

Basically I can watch anything as long as it's not childish, boring or romantic comedy (there are some exceptions tho).

Wow, you guys are just kids  ;D

I won't say my age but I will say that I am a PLC and HMI programmer.
Currently working on the control system for a new gold mine but have done
many other systems in many other fields.
Been gaming since, well put it this way, my first computer was an Atari 16K
that had to load games from cassette tapes. State of the art at the time.
Probably been gaming for longer than most people here have been alive.

If you don't know what a PLC or HMI is Google it.

We could use more programmers who have experience with C++ or OOP in general.

The programming I do is closer to Kismet programming I would guess. Ladder logic,
function blocks, and SFC programming. I program with software developed for PLC
programming, Logix5000, Unity Pro, a few others. It's all basically 1's and 0's.

The HMI packages are the same. It's software developed for a certain purpose.
I have used packages like Wonderware, Citect, RSView, and a few smaller ones.
I basically draw pictures of the plant equipment and then animate them based on
the PLC input. For example, When a motor is running I turn the picture of the motor
green, red is stopped, that kind of thing. I use some basic type VB scripting to do
complicated animations like rotations etc.

Compared to what you guys are doing this is fairly low tech. Although we do very large plants,
900 motors, 25,000 I/O it's nothing like programming a game.

Well, if you want to have a go at Kismet, that's also nice :p.
