hosting hl2dm games with 5 folks worked pretty well even back in those days on my 1k dsl, so i'm pretty optimistic. though real dedicated servers for clanwars would be awesome.

Being able to setup a dedicated server whereby people can play as normal, and others can drop in and out of spectating would work well IMO, depends how hard it is to code. If you don't know what I mean, check out Quake Live and the way Duel works.
