Cronky

Isn't a Soap Opera something that Women put on as background noise while they are Cleaning?
If you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY good at making a simple response into a wall of text.

How is it not a soap opera? Is it because the acting is at least subpar?

It has camera angles other than the standard 5 feet above the ground tripod shot.  It's not a soap opera.

Cronky

PLUS, let's not forget...

If it's got at least Sub-par acting... That probably means that the writer behind the story was paid more than 5 dollars.

Story that costs more than a Footlong at Subway = Not Soap Opera

Some conventions of a soap opera can be broken without changing the genre. Camera angles don't decide what a soap opera is, they just happen to be tried and tested rules.
