What about a polite request directly to the developers of scpt/ct versus mode (annency in france afaik)?
at least it's their great work that got messed up in double agent because of their financier Ubi/MS.
Probably one or two of the developers are privately interested in the versus mode.
And what about the potential of Project Stealth to be included in sc5? ubi could get a really good versus mode with few money according to the wishes of the hardcore community regarding gameplay. we would just have to convince them of  our professionality and serious attempt  :o

We know the Versus mode and gameplay better than the Devs. They've been assigned to other projects too.

First show them a tech demo...

but by then....SC5 could be possible done...so we need an animator and programmer

Gawain

It's always hard to set the ball rolling, but it's even harder to leave this project to chance whether a gifted programmer is reading about us or not...

Overstatement

I think it's pretty easy to start a project when everyone is high off of a new idea. It's hard to keep working on a project months after it's started, after the high is gone and boringnessism sets in. Thus, that is why most projects die silently.

Gawain

I think this won't be a big problem here because of the high percentage of splinter cell junkies  ;D

Another serious recuritment idea: Maybe you know the Games Academy in Berlin. Their students are all involved in some kind of project to get nuts and bolts experience. They can be easily contacted via their project pages...  ;)

Overstatement

Do they have a forum you could post on? :-X

The devs are just regular old people. I once had a long conversation back and fourth of the producer of the PC version of both DA and CT.

We talked about the possibilities of releasing source code for CT. He was all for it. However, the studio manager kindly told me that it was not the best idea so close to Double Agent's release (this was back before DA came out).

The guy I spoke with really liked the idea of community content, and was really amazed to be talking with a community member (do they like forbid them to access community pages or something?). Anyhow, we could mention the MOD to them when it starts shaping up.

They might just look at it and do nothing with it, or they might actually support us by sharing some code or helping us with giving us "rights" to some assets from CT. It all seems a bit far fetched but hey, I'm just thrown it out there.

I was just thinking last night how awesome it would be if we got the CT Versus source code.

lol my ex freind hacked/got it lol.... and he was making things but then he got into a huge arguement and so on so yea just wanted to share that

Iservealot, I doubt they have to right to release their own code to us. I am almost 100% sure their contract says that everything they code for a project, will be owned and copyrighted by Ubisoft. So before they can give us some, Ubisoft will have to agree with that and they'll never do that.
