No, I'm saying that using an oversized nautical compass to navigate land is retarded, and I'm fairly certain that the majority of the player base has no idea how to interpret bearings.

1. You're implying that the nautical compass replaces all other means of navigation, which isn't true. I disagree that the compass is oversized, from the screenshot provided it doesn't seem to obstruct anything.
2. True, but wouldn't you just use the compass to find north, east, west and south? I don't think the purpose of the compass is to find bearings, the inclusion of bearings seems to be more of an artistic decision than anything else.

CoD4 has a compass with N, E, S, W etc. I don't know if there's a real difference between a compass with just those abbreviations and actual numbers. Usually it's combined to set out a path.

The difference Game-wise to the Average gamer would just be purely aesthetic.

I know when I personally looked at the compass on the Merc's HUD all I really saw was a Compass. People like Spekkio, and the people who just kind of agree with him, seem to take it too far. As if I was ever going to say something like:

"Spy bearing at 145 relevant", or whatever Spekkio said before...

Every single little thing doesn't need a detailed purpose. Nautical Compass... Military Compass... Simple Compass... They all are achieving the same thing within this game. Which is giving you a compass to potentially use. If it looks "Right" then there is no need to change it. If it truly is a PROBLEM then the fix is easy enough.

Right now... I find it hard to figure out what the problem is with it.

Well, if I'm wrong, I stand corrected. However, for both digital scopes and gunships, they have this compass on them (0 north going by 3's to 33) so I thought it looked cool and added it in. On a side note, let me know what this kind of compass is because I couldn't find any info on it, I just found the usual one counting from 0 by 2's and not 3's.
