Well, if there are two mercs and 3 objectives always accessible, that does create a problem in coverage, doesn't it?

Yep, but I mean compared to something like clubhouse or factory, where you've got 6 objectives and 2 mercs, it's a pretty big difference.

1 out of 3 twice should be pretty tough, but due to the nature of the map, it's really not. That's my only real point here.

I'm just saying that when you have maps that feature lots of small rooms and spyroutes, like orphanage, they're much easier than large room maps, like river mall. So I'm not certain why we have to nerf large room maps further by having uber MT. If people can get by without needing MT much on orphanage, they can probably get by without having it on River mall. People still play Orphanage even though you can't win purely by MT whoring as you can on some maps and game balance doesn't fall apart, so I'm really inclined to think that we can nerf the anti-stealth aspects of MT pretty heavily and still have a balanced game.

The only place I think the game gets hurt is if we nerf MT against aggro.

ok, just made some screenshots for a comparision between normal and high post render and the shadow inversion fix on the ump maps. i want mt to look like it does with normal post render and zed's fix (+slow climb + fixed slope bug), but with higher sensivity in the los (eg lower detection timer).

InvisibleMan999

Why even have slow climb? Why not just make regular climbing not set it off. I mean, it's not like spies climb all that fast anyway.

don't think so.
i think if one is in slow mode (and not jumping down a high object or rolling), he shouldn't set off mt detection. everything else should be detected, so that it's a coherent concept.

no comments on my screenshots? (am i the last one comparing this ingame?XD)

I think the MT fix might help quite a bit on some maps. Though a lot of the maps, CT maps especially just aren't dark enough for it to matter much.

Gawain

i think dark maps are superior. imo a combination of the effect normal post render and zeds shadow fix do is the way to go, but with zero detection timer in the mercs los. this would result in careless/aggro spies getting detected better, and sneaky spies much harder. one would have to use flashlight again ;)

btw, what about emf ghosting? is it something we only want in very close ranges, and in combination with the zoomed sniper rifle, or something like now that some people with ultra high resolution and a good monitor can abuse?

frvge

Personally I really dislike EMF ghosting. EMF isn't meant for seeing spies who dont have vision/gun out, IMO.

imo it should only work in a 2 meter range and in zoom.

agreed. EMF ghosting is a bug and should be treated as such.

I approve of this

removing emf ghosting totally will make ceilings a way too good spot for camping, it'll change the gameplay on museum quite a bit. some good players like nxr jason play with more than 50% emf btw

Yeah, but he must have  some uber-pr0-super-overclocked screens to see the ghosts...

That may be true, but why do we even care. If a spy is sitting up in the ceiling without his gun drawn, what harm is he really?

Gawain

too many spy-only zones like vents are bad for the gameplay.

While I agree with that, generally there are more ways of seeing through ceilings. Museum has holes in the cieling where you can frag, you can see with EMF if the spy turns on vision or draws his gun. And you can shine your flashlight to see various areas anyway. I mean if you're careful you can watch the ceiling vent from cafe to corridor.

If all else fails, you can always take random shots.

I just would like most of the uneven graphics problems to be fixed. It's crazy when you've got some fool who EMF ghosts you cause he has tweaked hardware and has way better vision than you do.
