Looks like the Dev team combined it's power to make this answering process possible! BAM! I like these questions being answered, if only because it does give a potential mapper a "Cans and Cants" kind of list to look at.

I didn't expect the new sentry camera to be possible, but I thought new, level-specific skins wouldn't be a big deal. Point taken from this is now I, the know-nothing potential mapper, know the limitations.

MulleDK, just to clarify what I mean by "Set pieces" I meant having a library of objects that you use to create levels. Instead of opening Maya (Or the UDK?) and creating everything from scratch.

Think Legos. You have certain shaped blocks and pieces that were supplied to you in the box you bought. At no point can you make your OWN custom shaped Lego, but instead you work with the ones you have to make a similar object that you needed.

Like... at no point do I make my own box, but instead place "Object_Box" from the PS Library, that you devs created, onto my level, fiddle with it's dimensions, then move on to another piece.

I think I'm done with explanations now. ;D
If you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY good at making a simple response into a wall of text.

You build the geometry, then you place prefabricated models in the level.

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

Even though I am not sure what Kismet is, overall that a yes? :P
Kismet is a system that allows you to make map interactions.  Such as, when you press a button certain lights turn off, a box drops, a floor moves, something explodes etc.  Or when you finish hacking an objective doors open.  This is just the basic idea.  You end up having a screen full of menus and you connect arrows all over the place between items to get what you want it to do.
