RPG Similiar to Diablo 2

So after playing a bit of Diablo 2, I remembered a very similiar game that I am trying to figure out, only things I remember from it was:

1) On a Disk cover it had like a Samurai with weapon claws it looked really similiar to wolverine type of claws(No it's not X-men)

2) You play from almost same camera angle like in Diablo.

3) When you battle monsters there are like red circles on floor that the monsters spawn from allmost like a hell portal or a hell hole, and you had to use some sort of a spell to put a boulder on it.

4) I think there was 3 types of characters, 2 Guys, and 1 Female you could pick. BUT IN SINGLE PLAYER AS FAR AS I KNOW YOU COULD ONLY PLAY 1 OF THE 3!

5) Just to make it easier to search I guess, you could have necklace slot in your inventory tab...

6) It also as I remember it was set in Asian medieval times? (It's definately something with Asia I could say Chinese Japanese? WIth Spells? and Demons? :S)

No...quite close, and they look quite similiar :/ But the CD cover has a character with weapons that look like claws in X-Men on Wolverine. This one has 2 characters. But still thanks for trying I am still trying to find it :(

Yeah, I tried looking around, and pretty much only found that game and Throne of Darkness when it came to Asian Themed Diablo-like games.

Once you find it, definitely shout it out.

While it also doesn't follow the "Claw like Cover" (Could be mistaken for claws... maybe... if you squint). It does have the characters. :P

and how Old do you think the game is? (Same time as Diablo 2? Before? After?)

No it's none of those you mentioned but thanks for trying, one key feature I remember well is that there was like small circular holes with lava looking textures, and they were like portal holes which you have to seal in order for monsters to stop spawning, Also I can remember the animation of the spell I think it was like a Green 5 edged star with a circle in around it. And once the spell is complete a boulder same size of a portal blocks it, preventing the monsters to spawn, also another clue I remember is the background of the CD cover with the character is purple-ish...

The star is what the spell animation does at the feet of the character, and the red circle with orange/yellow dots is similiar to what the portals look like.

Also I think it was something of a Draconic age? Dragon monsters, spirits and magic?

I kind of remember what the starting area looks like, it's a village and it has maybe 2-5 traders? And it has 2-3 paths you can go, I am pretty sure 2. And if you play there is 1 path to a next zone in the WEST, and one in the EAST. I am not really sure if there was a third way, but in one of the west or east zones you would not able to go anywhere else so you would have to go back to the village and through the east or west place to progress..my memory is so dodgy..

I can also probably bet, the game was older than year 2000, but the graphics were diablo2 like...yet again my head hurts...but I have to find that game...

The thing is I doubt any of those games above have the feature of a "Small hell-holes where monsters spawn, and your character uses a spell to put a boulder ontop of it to block the spawn" That the only biggest clue I remember :/

The only problem with that clue is that we have to of played the game to know. :P

While that wouldn't be a problem if someone had, it is since it seems like no one is in that boat.

Going off the other clues those make it's only somewhat easier. (Though admittedly finding "CD Cover has a guy with a Claw weapon" doesn't give too promising of results.) ;)

The search is still on though.

It has to be Akuma: Demon Spawn.

The cover for it isn't how you described it and even in single player you control 3 people at once, two guys and a chick. However you do seal enemy spawn holes with a rock though. The game is from 1999 as well. Has to be it.
