I really enjoyed Conviction on my first playthrough, and I loved making the full stealth videos despite having to do it in roundabout ways at many times. However now that I've finished it I have no reason to play it again. The multiplayer was boring, and the single player was way too linear and easy to be interesting.

Conviction, hmm...
Let me see if I can summarize it quickly.
- Coop it good
- Single player story is atrocious
- Gameplay has potential but lacked and/or failed most things
I still play occasionally, but something so linear get's really old really fast.

As far as the mod for R6 is concerned.
Well, when I found out about it a few weeks ago I was very disappointed .
Ah well, lucky I got to it before it was removed.

In my opinion, I would take Conviction like Swat but with a better look, if an agent would have to go into a building an gather intel on some guy by force, why the hell would he care who he would kill?

Has anyone thought of Infiltration in real life? Definitely not me, otherwise if we knew it, it wouldn't be an infiltration. So I think Conviction goes to something off, do the job and get out. If they don't know your face and will never track you because everyone is dead, hell good job.

If someone makes your game better, at a certain point it can be seen as stealing customers from any sequel you make.

That's probably why they shut it down.

It's probably cause the mod had "rainbow six" in the name.

If project stealth was called "splintercell versus 2.0" I bet the same thing would happen.

Exactly what I was going to say. Most likely they are working on a new Ravenshield (or a remake, if you must), and having a MOD call RS2.0 may cause confusion.

Fair points Monterto/lennard but I see mods with the name brand in the title, yet they don't get shut down.  If they are making a remake (which seems reasonable because they did that with PoP and SC), then I wonder if they feel threatened by the improvements made by these guys.  Makes it seem like the "remake" probably won't be worth it.

It makes me feel like they are doing these remakes less for fan service and more for cash.  They are a business but they have one of the worst reputations to their customers, aside from Activision.  I hope their disregard for fans comes back to bite them and I'm not usually one to wish bad on anyone.  I only hope this because it may cause them to change their ways.

well No the thing is though, ubisoft are nazi's period because prime example : Renegade X is remake essentially of Command and conqueor Renegade game, yet EA was cool with them doing it.

Ubi on the other hand , I remember the days when Mr.mic zed ,frvge were working on the unifed mapping project ( UMP) and they called up ubisoft to ask for the dimensions on how to properly place co-op / try to implement the window grab from double agent. Ubisoft declined.

Then you should be aware of the fact that Renegade X has written permission of EA to make that mod, right?

As well as, after Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, every other Command and Conquer just failed miserably.

(Agent@, you are a hypocrite)
