I think he meant to emphasize the difference between types of RPGs.

Compare the ones that we've all been talking about (Dragon age, Fallout, Oblivion, etc.) vs WoW. Calling them the same type of game/experience just doesn't ring right.

mass effect and fable TLC were fun and kept your attention even though tthe writing was predictable and characters were cliche and boring. I agree with noop on bloodlines but I would call out deus ex as my no 1 example. Just really well executed and put together on all fronts.

I think what went well with Deus Ex is the realism of what the goverment can be like, and all the political conspiracy just makes it so much greater because you can actually understand it a lot quicker and you know what you are really doing in the game, Mass Effect is really kind of odd? Your basic goal is just to find out who is behind and destroy the reapers? We really don't know anything about them other than they are huge metalic dudes and they are very very bad.

They made their own story for the game, actually. The only thing they got from the books were the characters/setting.

I'm surprised you said Kotor 2 though, considering how much crap it gets for being "Unfinished"/Rushed. It was only a bit of time later that people unlocked some of the content that was mostly made, but not implemented into the game.

I'd take something that's unfinished but with good ideas over something finished but shit. I mean, fuck, I play CT.

I was talking about the first one, but 2's good too. Sort of. 2 is better as a game but it's also full of stupid shit so it can be kinda hard to take seriously. Tactics/BoS/3 just look sorta shit so I haven't even thought about playing them. NV might be okay but it hasn't interested me enough to actually play it. Maybe one day.

I've been playing around with DA2 this weekend but seriously, how must I take this game seriously if every dude on the street starts a conversation with flirting. Either Kirkwall is filled with gay people only or I have honey on my butt. All my male companions have the option to flirt with straight away while female companions I need to raise their affection first before I get such option.

Oh and when I went in the brothel and asked for a female I got one with a deep male voice, what the hell.
