A point/Stat tracker?

Hey guys. I was wondering if we could start brainstorming some ideas for a stat system. I was thinking along the lines of Tinweasele's old program that would tell you things like Win %, necks broken, headshots, KOs, objectives hacked and even disconnects or quits. Maybe all these things could go towards a total value in points. The points wouldnt equal anything but would be a nice evaluation to see how you compare to other players. Maybe even teammates together could earn points and a state category as a squad.

Could there be a menu tab in game where you could type a persons name and see their stats? How hard would this be to impliment and would it be worth it?

I also thought this would help encourage players to stick with a specific name and help improve their stats and stop people from smurfing so much. It got pretty annoying not knowing who you were playing anymore. This was just a thought and I above all would just like a polished compelte game to come first.

Thanks

If this is going to be a way to remove smurfing, then I don't think people will take it seriously, smurfing is fun, people enjoy it. It makes the social experience also better.

For example:

Mazen: Oh you are that, that and that.

Me: Well you are even more of that and that.

5mins

Mebutyoudontknow: Hi, would you like to be friends?

Mazen: Sure.

Mebutyoudontknow: After 3 minutes into playing, BOOM HEADSHOT Mazen.

It wont be used as a way to eliminate smurfing for it would serve all the other purposes I spoke of but it could help limit smurfs. Obviously someone like yourself has 1,000 names and would go against this JUST being about limited smurfers. Nothing would stop you from having your 1,000 names and accounts, you just wont have all of your "impressive" statistics under 1 name.

I made a huge thread about my stats idea a few months ago, I'll see if I can find it.

Thats a completely different idea then the one i proposed and really has nothing in common except the word "stats."

That topic wishy washies back and forth from topics (I blame me). I think at one singular point Stat tracking gets brought up.

Point being? Pretty much what you said is what should be done. If they have a method of counting it... pump it into some kind of profile. People will still commit acts of smurfery if it's easy, and there is a "Reason". Spekkio goes on to say later in that thread (or perhaps it was a different one) that a "Rank", or the "Points" you are talking about in your first post, wouldn't mean much since there is little in the way of making sure you play against people of around the same level as you (Matchmaking and/or Restrictions).

It seems like this "Rank" should be taken away completely to limit smurfing down to a minimum (no number, no reason). If they did somehow make a matchmaking system that would find similarly skilled people (or ranked games checking stats beforehand) then they should make your "Rank" invisible. Though, in the end, if people want to play against "Noobs" then they'll find a way. Tracking Stats should stay though (as it's already probably been planned... like 4 years ago).
If you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY good at making a simple response into a wall of text.

By the way, as I remember Frvge did say something along the lines of having 1 account and be able to change the nickname of that account, and there won't be much point of creating 1000 accounts because if 1 of them is banned, all of them will be.

Wrong. If that idea were to be taken up, points gained from those challenge would contribute towards your ranking/statistics. It's just another addition, and given your whole thing is about the word 'stats', I think they do actually compliment each other no? ;)

I often wonder what happened to playing games just for the sake of playing. Forget stats and shiny things (acheivments) and just take each round as it is. I think that stats and shinies often stops people from enjoying the game for what it is. People get too worried about their stats and what other players are doing and it leads to stupid things like rage quits (oh no, I'm getting beat down like a punk so I will quit so it doesn't affect my stats). I jthink this will be a good game to enjoy round to round and not worrry about what everyone else is doing or how bad you got beat 15 games ago. If I remember, the best SC game (CT) didn't have stats tracking or anything and everyone here enjoyed it.

lol, i currently dont like the idea of acheivments or any rewards. I just thought it would be cool to see things like win % with which teammates or how many necks ive broken over time. What other good teams stats are. Everything in CT was tracked. Tinweasele's program allowed you to see everything youve ever done, it just wasnt done by ubisoft and wasnt in a tab in the main menu.

Obviously this wouldnt be needed to help discourage smurfs since ive just learned you can only have 1 account but change the nicknames but if banned with the 1 account doesnt matter what name you are under.

If you dont like stats, dont search your name haha, just play the game like you said.  :D

P.S. Disconnects should definetly be a stat as well to show how often you rage  :-X

Not very fair for people who often crash though...

If you crash a lot then that not happen without reason, search reason and fix it lol

Well, I don't care about whole stats till they don't give any advantage ( new eq etc. )
