Hmm maybe its me or Have I been playing alot of left 4 dead 2 :D  but anyway , I think this would be a great system to implement
so that incase that the host isn't there, people can vote to start the round :P .

Discuss.

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

Why would you want to start when someone isn't there? That's kind of a prick move.

I've got mixed feelings on this one. There are reasons to have a vote start, but most of them are just because you don't want to wait for someone to take care of some personal business. Since yeah, playing the game for fun is much more fun than sitting in a lobby for 10 minutes. Is it really needed though? Probably not.  It works in L4D2 because 1 person missing from a 4 person team doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it makes it harder, but it far from ruins the game. 1 person missing from a 2 person team is a little more dramatic.

I'd much rather an ability to switch hosts on a vote. Why quit a game because someone didn't plan their time well enough? Just kick the person that isn't available.

Or, somehow, having a way for a person to drop into a game without going back to the lobby. Preferably while still keeping the tension. So, not popping in with 5 lives, all your gadgets, etc. (unless they dropped in at the start of a match).

^^^ That idea right there is a little off topic, but I wanted to type it out before I forgot. ;)

or maybe if AFKgent isn't around we could vote to start the round.  ;D

I would rather have a timer for how long someone can be inactive and remain in the room when all other players are ready.  If it is the host, then either the room should close or the host switches.

Why would you want to play with only 3 people? Shit'd suck, yo.

DreadStunLock

As long as Project Stealth doesn't have an anti-kick, the vote to start is not neccessary.

How do you kick...
when the host is the one that needs kicking?

Is kicking the host...
simply a more complex way to quit the game?

;)

Vote for new host was how it was originally suggested to Valve for L4D, vote to start was just how the implemented it.

I think the former would be more suited to PS. :/

VoteGote system makes sense if PS had bots.

The vote to start system in Left 4 Dead 2, is CRAP.

That someone can gain control of MY server is outrageous.

It's bad enough that people can shut down servers. (Start Kick Vote > Kick Host)

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

A lobby isn't a server...
