I think Frvge mentioned something, if the Project Stealth will live up to it's quality, the Epic might give them a chance to publish their source code to schools and etc to use. But selling/giving away source, I really hope it's not going to happen.

As well as, from most of the people in this community, there is fuck all you will be able to do with the whole Project Stealth source.

The thing frvge (and lennard) said is in my response up above by the way. (1st response) ;)

Alright, what about a license which allows using the code for non-commercial purposes?
This way, you still get the money while the code is public.

I'm not sure if I'm reading your post right, but if what I read from the forum was right it was that PS can not be sold for money. Donations... might work, but they can't directly sell PS because of the license they're using with the Unreal Engine.

So really the only thing that can happen with the source code is either they (the PS Team) decide to let it out to the public, or not. Even if they let out the code as you said, you'd just be under 2 levels of "you can't make money from this even if you wanted to".
If you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY good at making a simple response into a wall of text.

As well as

I'm not one to complain about the little things, because God knows how convenient the life of the current man really is (in developed countries, at least).

But dude, you're using these words the wrong way.  "As well as" can never really start a new sentence - except for the way that I just did it.

Much <3   :)

As well as the states of developed countries are, I feel like they pay their grammar police more than is needed.

Farley4Fan

If they paid me anything I would have mentioned it the 12th or 13th time he said it that way.  lmao

I can't just stand by and watch something get butchered (the English language included)...

Umm then Why are games like The Haunted able to do so ? , It was using the Unreal 3 engine o_o... and not UDK to my
knowledge , same thing with the Mod the ball ,now on sale on steam :/

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

Agent... I have no clue. I only go on what I read here in terms of selling the game. There was some topic where Frvge or someone said that selling it would not be possible because of the license they are using with the Unreal Engine. Don't remember the exact why, but it seemed like that was the reason that the Devs aren't putting a price tag on this game.

That or they just REALLY like us and want to give it away for free.

I thought Unreal Engine 3, was basically UDK with source code? You get the source code once you purchase a license?

I am so confused. >.<

frvge

We are able to sell. The question is: will we? And if yes, for how much and through which channels. Team hasn't reached consensus yet and won't until we have a good beta out.

Well there's the legit answer.

I do remember reading that it was not being able to be sold somewhere on the forum. Was that when it was a Mod, or am I just dumb?

I thought it was because you guys were scared of copyright issues.

frvge

I don't know the exact reasoning anymore.
