turtle,  your son was the coolest...just for the fact that he knew his age, and knew how to behave around the big kids.  I played with him only once,  but he did get a lot of respect because his father also played.

And no, blacklist serves the entire purpose of the "age limit"....no need to integrate yet another filter.  There are some really good players under 16 yrs,  and face it....i am 32 and that makes me nearly a grandpa in this community.

you seem to be missing the point, the point is .. For chaos theory it says Rated M thus they shouldn't be playing it Period because of their cracked out parents fail to take responsibility of their kids.

Just because it's rated M does not mean that some cracked out parents aren't taking responsibility for their children. Maybe in some cases but most parents will allow their children to play M rated games and watch R rated movies if they deem the child mature enough to handle the content. Enforcing an age limit because some players don't have the maturity to behave like they are twice their age has nothing to do with content. Let's face it - there are plenty of adults who lack the maturity to interact with other human beings in a mature and polite fashion. There are also plenty of kids who are far more mature than some of the adults.

I've personally watched you behave in a fashion not befitting even a 10 year old more times than I care to count. You yell into the mic like an angry 5 year old having a fit, you bash people of other nationalities in an almost racist fashion, you cuss people out because you've had a long day at work. You exhibit this behavior, yet are not a kid.

Edit: I'm not trying to bash you either, anyone who has played with or against you would have noticed your behavior. Just trying to point out, this is silly and pretty ridiculous not only coming from you, but period. It is up to the parents NOT us to monitor what their children play and watch. If this were to contain pornographic material enforcing an age limit would not only be reasonable but required in some countries.

This is not a personal issue. I play with Agent quite often as a matter of fact and though his behavior can be annoying at times, it makes him no less desirable of a partner as he is an excellent player and all around not a bad guy. I am merely pointing out the flaws in such a system and the fact that if something like this were enforced, his own behavior would probably earn him a spot on that black list. I'm am not prone to flaming and bashing, quite the opposite, I despise it. I've pointed out nothing that anyone who knows him (Which is nearly everyone) does not already know. If my intent was bashing it would be done over xfire, not on a forum.

I know. That's why it's a general note. Wasn't really directed at anyone in particular.

how long have you been playing scct? ::)

Spekkio

Actually, having an option to set voice chat to "toggle" or "press-to-hold" via a hotkey would be great. My headset has the ability to turn the mic on and off, but a lot of people's don't. Sometimes you just don't want your partner hearing a conversation in your house.

Gawain

push to talk can be a nice feature, but toggling off teamchat is just stupid.

oh wow look the thread i originally started is resurrected , intresting. Hmm just thought of a revolutionary idea, Similar to Cs but , i was thinking , what about Having a Hostname and Password in console so then you could have hosts login and out of the server via console / it would stop alot of Abuse / have possibly a feature where if someones being a bag of douche, then you could kick / ban -for X amount of minutes / give reason why they are banned inside the game.

-Thanks Murdy for da Sig <3  xD

Well aren't you fuckin special.

As to the rest of your idea....lame. Nice concept, but no. The normal lobby with the optional password protected server is fine. The only thing is that the kick/ban from a server should deal strictly with the IP address, not the account name. Also, the user who did kick/ban should have the ability to undo the kick/ban whenever they want.

Why make such a simple concept so difficult? Anyone is allowed to join ANY PUBLIC SERVER. It is up to you if you want to throw a pw on, or allow any1 in it. Host has the power to boot. Not necessary to put a "time limit" on a kick/ban. And maybe host should kick someone for a legitimate reason instead of being a "bag of douche" and kicking b/c they got pwnt. There are too many other little things that go into the kick/ban concept. You have to realize who the product is going to and how much you DON'T KNOW about them and their personality.

Fin.

Some people have dynamic IP addresses. Banning should work by cd-key.

Overstatement

UT3 will probably work this way.

OOOOooo. Thats a god idea

Gawain

one should get the possibility to contact the one that banned one in some way. people tend to be fast with banning and sometimes idiots change to nice and skilled players...
