From the bottom of pirates to greek it would take about 9 seconds to get there or blow the vent and frag it.  By then, the hacking would probably be over and it would be taken.  If you are out of your post, then the objective will usually be taken.  You just have to bait the mercs out of their post.  Whether it be snares, noisy spies, their dead teammate, a hacking spy, a tech room bombing etc.

Yes, firing a frag disrupts the hacking, but it won't stop it.  You would have to keep firing frags in order to keep the spy from keep hacking and stopping and hacking again.  It doesn't stop the spy it only makes him hack over and over until he gets it.

Say you are in tech, and pirates is being hacked.  The spy could easily get a good 8-10 seconds on the objective.

Get me that video

Farley4Fan

My xbox won't read my freaking CT disc and I am going to get a new disc today.  I might get the video up by tonight.

haha im really looking forward to see you n00b play with other even worse n00bs on the crappy xbox controls yeeha ;D

Gawain

still waiting for the vid ;D

on the topic: if there is one custom map that needs to be ported, it's clarity soft. this map is so awesome :o 8)

Clarity Soft was nice, but in general too complex.
It's way more complex than Factory and Orphanage as far as I know.
If it were smaller, then maybe.
The creator can of course port his own map to PS.

complex? so what?? this is a game where you have to think. the way clarity soft goes is the way most ps maps should go. i played it with some friends the last days and you know almost every way after 3-5h.
in my current opinion, one less hacked objective should lead to victory, but it's way too early to rate.

Bionic-Blob

what you should say is clarity soft was too complex for a custom map. as custom maps are played far less than vanilla maps, hardly anyone had the patience to learn them. if we ask the creators of the maps if we can package them with the mod, it should sort all that out.

Clarity Soft wasnt too complex, it was broken.

As in... fundamentally flawed.

I dont see how you can make it fun and balanced without taking out and redoing over half the map.

oh ok. i only played it once and couldn't make head nor tail of it. just going off frvge's word. oh yeh i do remember getting killed in the elevator though :|

Overstatement

But it looks so cool (I rarely played it too)

plz clarify. your view on clarity could prove useful for the mappers and i'm really curious.
what do you mean by not balanced? it's a map hard both for spies and mercs, but in my experience it results in a slight advantage for the mercs if they can handle aggro and are good with camnets. what i like of it is not only the great look and athmosphere, it's also the lack of overpowered central camping points and the endless tactical possibilities it offers.

this is exactly what i'm aiming for. i get really bored with the vanilla maps, and it's hard to find people willing to play ump or real custom maps. i vote for including several new maps and ports of good custom maps practically noone has played anyway as vanilla maps, and doing something like ump ct later.

are there any screenies of the new club house version i heard the devs are doing for test reasons? ;D

frvge

Not yet, they'll come after we finished post-processing them for uber-pwnage graphics that ultimately don't look like the real thing when it's released.

Meh, just not yet. But soon.

Hey FarleyFan, you can't use a 360 controller in CT except in Single Player/Coop.(I'm assuming coop works also since it is the same control set basically)

Also, can someone lock this thread seeing as Zed posted on the first couple pages that the only one being redone is Clubhouse?

Really?  Oh, well I am sure it will work for project stealth when it comes out. ( Since it is a newer game than CT )  Are you sure it isn't just the PC you have that it doesn't work on?

Anyways how are the Ubi forums?  Still screwed up as ever?  I think it is stupid I got banned for stating my opinion, while others who are pro conviction still get to state theirs and not get banned.  ::)
