He constantly reminds the mod team how he doesn't need us and we all suck but will always make his way back to this forum.

These are great, too;

What does this come down to?  You're a drugged-out 30 year old hypocrite who hasn't succeeded in life, hasn't grown up, and hasn't realized that you're the problem - not us.  Quit wasting everyones time, including yours.  You aren't going to convince anyone.  You need help, seriously.

MR.Mic

Camper-Cop is just flat-out a bad idea. It might be funny for a bit in a public server with everyone just chilling out, but that's just poor implementation for a competitive match.

This is not going to be an Army sim. I know that's kind of your thing, but give it a rest. There are plenty of games designed exactly for that. We aren't going for realism, not even remotely. We are, however, going for something that will prove to be a balanced implementation of competitive Stealth-Action-Multiplayer gameplay. I honestly think that realism can go out the door if the game is plays well. If that means Cats Vs. Unicorns, then so be it.

You are not our target audience. We are making this game for ourselves. We are our own target audience. If you don't like it, well that's too bad. Don't play it, tell all your friends not to play it, I don't care. I really don't care if anyone else plays this other than the small community that still plays CT.

That has been the goal from the beginning. It doesn't matter if this mod fails to attract a large audience. If I can play something that is like CT with my circle of friends, but without the bugs, then that's "Mission Accomplished" in my book.

mic , thank god youre here ... stay with me now this whole thing is dying on me cuz noone understands me .

i love tech shit . me and mic could talk all day about tech shit but hes a busy dude and i got shit to do tooo .

so on point : mic the point i want made is : present day , realism . i want what real spies , and real mercs would be wearing , using , how they look , how they react . the whole deal ... REAL

with this comes research . i can help as much as possible getting info on the blackwater PMC outfit's routine , but i cant promise anything atm . i am a researcher . i research guns , gear , organisations , high tech toys and anything technology based that is interesting and useful .

i also research games . ive played every tactical shooter from syphon filter to swat 4 , rainbow six , bf2 , ArmA , insurgency mod , ghost recon , the list really goes on and on .

big deal , so what ? well i also research info i get from my military contacts . i ask bland questions , i get a great idea for a game element . simple . so why do i think i know whats good for the mod ? because i sit on my broke stankin ass most of the day finding out what games are , what they do , who made them , what was in them ? why wasnt it more complete , why did it have a certain feel to it , what impression did it leavbe me , before and after playing newer and more detailed games , what could be the most detailed game , why did a french company build an american National Security Agency game that was mildly entertaining but so fake ?

thousands of questions , and these questions branch new questions ... and each answer either fills the gap or leads to more questions or answers ... i have been doing this since 2000 when i got my first real windows based PC .

Mic , i am asking you as a friend ( i know you probly think im a ragin douschebag in private and i dont even mind because you have a professional attitude , and i appreciate that )because you know im fairly smart and can reason things out ... will you allow me to present to you and some other dev's a design document for my mod idea and see what you guys think ? i will never start the mod because i have noone to ask for help , unreal is my only choice and it is had to find modders willing to work on a long term project , you were all lucky to think alike and be already in the same community .

and thank you mic for being decent to me after all this nonsense . nothing i say is even real , i just wanna expose you guys to filth to see if you can handle it , its a game for me .

MR.Mic

Just an addendum to my previous post:

This mod was never intended to be sold or otherwise used to turn any profit whatsoever. Any post by another forum member that indicates otherwise is just plain false. This is a completely non-profit side-project that many of us are just working on in our spare time. I must reiterate that this is a completely-for-ourselves project. We are designing the game so that it is fun for us to play. If you think it's fun as well, that's great. If not, then there are countless other games out there that might captivate you.

reason3d

sorry i misread that , im kinda high on ritalin atm .

reason3d

oh and i was mentioning "camper cop" simply as concept , because if you can spawn an actor to go out and kill someone , you can also display a message to the camper and then shortly after drain his health slowly

or even better make all maps have primitive thermal sensors in and around the playing area ( dont have to be visible but players should knwo they exist ) so once a player camps the thermal would finally lock on and send a message to all player or enemeies his position .

lots of ways to deal with camping , vega can think up 3 right now . lol vega , youre seriously a cool dude cuz you pick apart my quotes , effort will make you a better man , good work .

MR.Mic

This project will probably be entered in the contest, but in no way will the development revolve around it. It's basically just something to throw our project in to see how it does. If we win, that's cool. If we get dead-last, that's ok too.

As far as the camper issue goes, there isn't really an issue. In story mode games, camping has never been a truly successful strategy for either team if both teams are reasonably familiar with the game mechanics and strategies. Map design basically alleviates a camping problem by spreading out multiple objectives so that the mercenary team can not just body-block two laptops and go eat a sandwich for 10 mintues, and any map that does allow for that is just poorly designed.

Sometimes it is necessary (however I do not tend to play like this) for a spy to sit in a corner or vent for several minutes for the right moment to strike. That's ok with me, since there is a timer working against them. Every second they spend in that corner is another second they can't spend winning the game. In a competitive environment, winning the game is the main objective. It doesn't matter how long it took or how many kills you got, or didn't get. Ultimately it's about whatever wins the game.

Think about this game a bit less like a military sim and more like a sports game, but with projectile weapons. Sure some of the rules and gadgets don't conform with reality, and others are just plain absurd, but we are just making something that should ultimately be a fair game for both teams of equal skill in the end.

reason3d

oh , hmm well that makes sense .

i wont be playing this as im a hardcore realism fan , i thought the focus of this mod was to make it much like an "official" agency game .

i would however like to offer a concept of a realism sim , it has a hollywood stlye background for the situation report , but it will be pure realism , or not at all . all i ask in return is help building it .

and mic you know me i take criticism and go back to work , i weigh all opinions equally because , like an official government agency , no one man can know everything .

MR.Mic

Unfortunately, I am a full-time student and can not help with the development of another game project. Time for schoolwork, time for Project Stealth, and a little free time for sanity is all I can spare at the moment.

Those last 4 posts make you a real person again, reason3d... Perhaps if you just stay like that, everyone will like you again and talk normally to you like Mr.MIC did.

*thumbs up*

Ps. And what about if you just remove all your offensive posts from before, it will be a start for a clean sheet?

DONT ... DONT  be "nice" to me , i hate that panzy shit where everything is shepherd's pie for everyone lol .

its mic who brings it out of me , you see how he just focused on the gameplay idea and skipped the hoolie-boolie bs ?

anyways i found a potential group that has things in common with my concept so im gonna give it to them after i document that i developed the idea .

thanks though , good luck man .

LennardF1989

I have to be nice, lol. Sometimes I just get mad and tell someone the truth, that's all.

If I would be a son of a bitch (and still be in the team), no one would explain the're ideas to me, which won't help me to work them out in UnrealScript. Also, I don't think it would be a positive thing if there are sob's in the Dev-Team, I suppose they would kick me out immediatly if I start flaming the community.
