If you vote for a new gadget or "other" please post an idea or explanation.

I've voted "Restrict Visions + Optical Camo invisible to Cameras" because it seems like the only viable solution to removing a gadget from the mercs arsenal entirely. But I'm going to add that I voted this because I'm in favor of a more general "Nerf Camnet in some more and give it a counter" solution.

After all this discussion I think that this gadget should be taken away. IMO mercs should not be able to know where the spies are and often is that its very difficult to hide from camnet's sight.
I like the idea of implementing new gadget but at this stage I cant say what could it be.
Perhaps some kind of 3rd spy trap.

Im also sure that when you nerf the camnet it will become useless so its better to remove it completely and add something new.

Voted for new gadget, but I, too, have trouble thinking of something good. EDIT: I cross-posted this on SClamers since a lot of the people there don't read these forums.

It's a shame they don't read this.

I vote for the thing I said in the other thread but everyone ignored. Make the camnet camera blink 3 seconds before being activated so the spy has a chance to hide but non-attentive spies get seen.

Overkill. Camnet wasn't that bad in CT.

Edit: Might work if it didn't take up a gadget slot like you suggested.

I was going to suggest this yesterday, or maybe make an loud start-up noise to emulate the camera coming to life.

Looks like goodkebab finally voted  ;D.

A drone would be too much of a rip-off of DA (and it was lame anyway.)

I vote for a new gadget that is similar to the spies sticky cam in that you either throw it or shoot it out of you're gun. You have 3 of them that you can shoot anywhere you want. Then you have to look through it through a special Merc console in the Merc's spawn or place somewhere strategically. The 3 cameras have all the functions of all the visions, have a mini-flashlight and laser. and you can switch through them in any order.

The camera's themselves are bigger then a sticky camera, but not as big as the cam-net cameras in CT. If a spy finds it, he can shoot it out with his sticky shocker and the Merc won't know it's out unless he check's the console and notices one is gone.

Also a spy can find the console and hack it. He can either disable all of the camera's at the same time OR jack into the system itself. Meaning the Merc's can still use it, but the spies can use it as well.

The console itself could either be a pre-placed prop that is always there OR, its originally in the level, but a merc can pick it up and move it around when he wants.

Of course, it all comes down to actual testing, so what sounds right on text doesn't mean it will work in game. It's a balancing act.

Which means, it doesn't matter what wins this poll, if we test it and it just doesn't work, we will scrap it and try something else.

Aj

I like Zed's idea of a new gadget similar to a spycam.

I voted "new gadget" also.
