well one thing is for sure, I'm tired of people messing around with the time settings.. soo they can make the game into deathmatch / or custom times that just mess up the concept of story.

soo what I suggest is : Preset default map times that are non -negotiable, ie. small maps ( 10 mins.) bigger maps . 15.

+ eliminating deathmatch will bring in older players as was proven in Double Agent

I'm all for eliminating deathmatch, but that wasn't the reason older players played DA. I'm sure they played it, just like CT, when it came out because it was an Ubisoft product.

PS should not have deathmatch. Perhaps some alternative games anyone can toss out there?

Well there are a lot of people that enjoy death match. While this is usually not the hardcore gamers, I think the decision should be made for the general feel of all players that we may run across.

Of course, if we were to add or not add death match, this would have no effect on other game types for you to chose from. Assuming we have multiple game types  ;)

I'll admit I played deathmatch a bit, but that was only for fooling around when I didn't have a good teammate or worthy opponents.  This is why I suggested a training mode as an alternative to deathmatch, but still have the story properties.

No, you can't eliminate deathmatch. Just because then it will become like PT where people are hosting story games and playing deathmatch anyway. I realize we all hate deathmatch. I personally despise it, but I don't want to waste time joining games and hearing about how it's not story, it's deathmatch.

People will play DM whether you give them that option or not.

mmm....good call...I retract my previous statement.

MulleDK19

I totally disagree with the non-changeable game timer.
And deathmatch should be possible too.

I would give people the opputinity to decide themselves... And if you do not like death match, don't join their server!

If my heart ever heals, I will make sure it'll never break again.

AgentX_003

No i totally disagree because thats what made PT a huge success due to no Deathmatch.. , and the limited maps.. if you didnt like a map too darn bad Your playing / learning it.

i think we all agree here that this mod is solely for a better svm experience for the vets (=us). so there are two options:
a) leaving out dm, custom settings etc totally in order to not attract morons in the first place
b) implementing these "features" as some form of a filter and a platform to get into the game/train specific stuff (not as effective as story mode, but easier = more fun for the n00bs)

personally i prefer option a) because players who want to play dm (or with their ingenious custom settings) will hopefully get fucked hard by the story mode players so that they get frustrated and leave the game. we should minimize the fun possible for brain dead people to get them out of the community asap. another point for a) is the programming work saving.

neth

We need more people to play this game. Eliminating DM (which I personally hate) wont tempt new guys. We need larger community and if they want to play dm, let them, perhaps they start playing story some day.

Gawain

dm players are very unlikely to become good story mode players. if they are not attracted by story mode in the first place, they shouldn't play this game at all. you don't have to be a genious to figure out that dm isn't that interesting and that story mode has to offer all dm elements + 1000 times more. if you fail at this observation you are simply too dumb for story mode. these people better play css or wow...
i also hate the kind of people that plays with inf time etc instead of actually learning the game. go die a horrible death fucktards...
the world (and scct) if full of annoying dumbfucks, and we should do nothing to attract them, especially not if it takes precious time of the programmers.
sorry for my language but i'm still angry from the last time i played with unfamiliar people...

What the hell are you talking about? People played DM on PT like all the time. The fact that it wasn't an official mode was annoying though, because sometimes you'd joined a game only to be told that the fools were playing DM, then you'd have to quit and find another one. People will play DM anyway, no matter what you do. The DM mode was created in CT, not because they thought that DM would be a cool game mode. They didn't even try to balance it, at all. They just created it so that you could filter out DM games. And that's precisely what PS should do too for the same reason.

Gawain

just had a brilliant idea: ingame police force lol. it works like this: a reliable person joins random servers just like a normal player and if people are playing dm there he bans their cd key from the mod.  ;D  :o

You make me feel embarassed for reading your stupid posts.

Westfall

Yea...the point is to create a bigger community. Don't play with noobs if you don't want to. But let them play all they want. Maybe they will make you look stupid somewhere down the line.
