Limiting extra vision modes?

Anyone ever thought of putting a timer, (kinda like the gas mask) for each extra vision mode? So when a merc uses motion tracking or emf it slowly drains, these could be refillable or not. Same with the spy's night vision and thermal? I dunno I think it could solve a couple problems of mercs easily flipping through visions to quickly find spies using camo or just in general because it would force mercs to conserve it.

Lets confirm that there is a problem because I personally don't mind the flipping.
Does anyone think there is a problem with visions after we fix the MT nightvision (and maybe EMF ghosting)?

If there is a problem, can't we just fix it with a minor delay between modes?

I don't see a problem.

The vision modes should be so balanced that you don't have to limit them. Besides, giving a limited supply would encourage the merc to flip through vision modes, rather than staying in one.

hmm, I think that with no MT nightvision and no EMF ghosting everything will be ok.
Mercs usually live longer than spies, so they would suffer mostly if you were not able to refill. If it is possible to refill them, why should we add anything like this then ?

To prevent people from staying in 1 particular vision the whole game, I guess.

not necessary with balanced=more specialized vision modes

I agree with Gawain.  If you have visions that are balanced then you don't need to limit them.  That is a reason why gas mask is limited, it's because it would be unbalanced with infinite amount.  So, just balance the vision modes and there is no problem.

I say put a battery on the merc that is used for motion/emf and your tazer.  This charges pretty steadly and makes it so you can't completely whore a vision.  Because for example you can stay on a rail and motion with no real downside.  But with a battery that recharges pretty fast would help balance this a bit.

You wouldn't need to do all that stuff like recharging and such if you just made the visions balanced.  If you nerf motion so you can't see spies when they are moving slow then there will be a downside to camping with it.  That downside is that they can easily sneak past you.

I dunno, I think the merc vision modes are really easy to just flip through or stay on until you find a spy, but thats just my opinion

Yeah, and that's why you make them a little less able to find spies.  You don't have to limit their time, just their abilities.
