just one thought: if you click on a server, you should be able to see who's inside.
i'd also appreciate some kind of world chat but obviously that's gonna be implemented anyways if possible.
has there yet been made a decision on the number/names of lobbies? i'm not sure if there's any need for different lobbys at all. giving every player and server a flag would be sufficient.

It'll probably be flags for the continent, so you can filter. Noone really uses the lobbies in CT anyway.

I hope you don't automatically get assigned you flag. Every site always thinks i'm german and my name sounds like it aswell so people always try and talk German to me  >:(

This depends on what GameSpy can do ingame and I don't think thats included.

@Gawain: Lobby can do as much as the UT3 browser can, for the global chat, we would need a server thats online 24/7 and that runs a blank map and I don't think thats good for the durability of the game (since the server will go offline sometime). So no global chat, but you will have everything you would have in CT when you are in the server (chat, VoIP etc).

No one even took into consideration my client-side server idea? :(

Yea, do so.

Sry for this small OT but im curious if PS will load as fast as CT and PT did. IMO it was one of the best things in the game.

I tried some big maps using RoboBlitz, they were loaded in less than 10 seconds. Also, the game starts quite fast when you remove all UT3 stuff.

Remind me Tidenburg!

Overstatement

CT needs a lobby player list. I always wonder who 1 or 2 people idling in USA West Coast are.

Alright... I think this could work: In each verson of PS is the script for hosting the main lobby chat. Of all the players in the (main) lobby, two or three would be appointed as hosts, administering the chat messages etc. Probably based on average ping. The reason why it is two or three is for backup and ensured accuracy. When one of the hosts quits the main lobby, another player would be hosting. It may take some coding, but it'll give a free, reliable chat room if everything works :)

Edit: The biggest flaw I can see is getting new players into the network. This can easily be solved by getting ten or so guys from here with static IPs who have their PC on all the time to run a little program that would give out the information to connecting players. It would require almost no bandwidth or resources at all.
