Title: SC Black List "confirms spy vs merc"?
Post by: Asshole on December 02, 2012, 01:40:45 AM
Ok so here, I want people to give their thoughts on (choose any that you like):

A) How will Ubi fuck up spy vs mercs this time around? (e.g. spy elbows in CT, no elbow in DA, now no jumping in BL? xD )

B) Which of the Spy vs merc do you suspect ubi will "Bring back" the DA one? the CT one? or just the name!?

C) What are your criteria in order to decide whether you would buy this game or not?

D) What will happen to this project?

A: No idea. BL looks better than Conviction. We'll have to wait to find out.

B: Probably some mix

C: I vowed never to buy a Ubisoft game after SCDA. I won't buy nor play BL unless I see proper patches and support for the community. Which they won't have.

D: We're discussing various options. Steam Greenlight is positive thusfar. Extra stuff might happen if you guys can actually get the community map to a next stage.

Well everyone wanted "Airport" instead of "Fort Knox".... and now they are all gone.... thank you very much  :-\

As for the topic:

A) As frvge already said: They will stop support very early again... after all "patches don't bring money", right?

B) For me ubisoft was always a case of "good developer but bad publisher". They might actually do something good.... or maybe it will just become spy players vs mercanary "bots"... or maybe again only 2 players max per game so only 1on1... who knows?

C) The existence of the Ubisoft-Game-Launcher is enough reason for me to not buy the game. I am not the type of person who is ready to install all these stupid programs like Ubisoft-Game-Launcher or EA's Origin to be able to play all the different games... Steam is enough for me already.

D) I am hoping for the continuation of this project, even if Blacklist ends up to be great gameplay wise. As i already said, I will not buy Blacklist, so I support PS!

So many people jumped ship all at once! Looking back, even a few months, has a lot people who just deleted their account. WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?? DID I MODERATE TOO HARSHLY!? ;)

topic topic topic...

A part of me hopes that Ubisoft does well with Spies Vs Mercs this time around. Regardless though it doesn't mean PS will be pointless. Hopefully by the time it comes out we'll have something nice to see on this end.

One thing that PS seems to have the hopeful upper-hand on Ubisoft is their ability to support it for longer, or change/build things that a "Big" company wouldn't spend the money on.

Yeah, I kinda hope they get it right too... I kind of need some stealth action already!!! xD, but IDK, I just have a bad feeling about it because I think Ubi SC developers are always very desperate to change things in the game, rather than to fix the bugs...

But, I also hope PS had some sort of impact on Ubi (remote possibility?) so that they realized that there is some sort of voice that needs to be heard or something.

That is not to say that I think that would be the end of PS or its purpose, because I agree with the point that it would probably have support for a longer time, and would probably develop over time to become the best game of its type that it can possibly be, not only due to bug fixing, but also gameplay tweaks etc.

Despite the pessimism/hatred Ive been hearing on the internets, Blacklist was already better than Conviction for simply having ACTUAL multiplayer be confirmed at E3.  The devs said 5v5 (which conviction was supposed to have 4v4 since DA had 3v3, they are making up for it on this game) but I wont judge too harshly until the game actual comes out, which is only about 3-4 months away I hope.  Im already committed to buying it regardless, because I simply miss Spy vs Merc gameplay and playing with active XBL users.

I kinda answered all your questions there.  Even though we cant take everything the devs said at E3 too literally, we only have their word at this point in time to go on.  I know how much you dudes hate DA, but the multiplayer gameplay will be akin to that, since its the latest version of Spy vs Merc they have to reference for this game.  Im probably the only one on this board that shares this opinion, but meh.

I will still support PS regardless, but as a gamer, I need to play games.  So if Blacklist comes out before PS, guess which one I will be playing the majority of the time.

Dude you serious ? play with xbox live members, whats the point, Blacklist willl be running off of windows 7 / 8 platform so, there will be built in controller support on the pc, just plug and play , that's how it was for double agent.

I have no intention of buying Blacklist for the PC.

It's a very presumptuous thought to assume that if something is released on PC (among other systems) that you will only buy it for PC, Agent. :P

They can also make a console game work with a Keyboard and Mouse. I recently tried out that Dust514 game on PS3 and that's exactly what they've done. You can play it with a controller, or you can plug in a Keyboard and Mouse and go to town (as far as I've read).

Unfair advantage in favor to those who use a keyboard and mouse on the console? Maybe. Everyone has that option though. So, if you're getting serious with the game you can go buy a cheapy keyboard/mouse, rather than having to invest in a whole PC.
