Since charging for the game isn't possible, due to the UE engine licence. Is it possible for a optional suggested donation when downloading the game?

Yeah, after playing the campaign more, I've noticed that it's just so linear. In the other SC you there were so many different ways to get someone because the maps were WIDER and just BIGGER. And plus you had to move soooo much slower so the guard's patrols had a HUGE impact on how you approach something.
I'm playing on perfectionist, and you can literally run up to someone, knock them out, and repeat. As long as no one sees you.
The maps are seriously bottlenecked.
My good impressions of the campaign was the animations, the gadgets, some map designs, and the difficult armored enemies.

As for the multiplayer, it gets boring. Again, the maps are just too tight. Something with the engine makes the characters fill the map so much more. I literally have created a list of changes and things that I just don't like about Classic that is too long to post here haha.
They really just need to recreate the old SvM. It seriously shouldn't be this f*cking complicated haha. There's a high demand for something, so there should be a supply. Like, wtf...

General / Off-Topic / SC: Blacklist Impressions

So I bought Blacklist and I'm disappointed with the multiplayer (as expected), but not as much as I thought I would be. The gameplay is alright, but it feels like CoD in the way that you just run in, flail your arms and gadgets around hoping you kill someone, die, and then wait 15 seconds for respawn with unlimited lives. The difficulty for killing someone isn't really that great. There really isn't much value attached to a merc because he's so easy to kill if he happens to be at the right spot. It's not very rewarding. BUT I could go on about multiplayer forever. In essence, Classic is better than Blacklist. But not by much.

I really think that I enjoy the singleplayer more than the multiplayer in the game, which wasn't expected since I've always liked the multiplayer more than the singleplayer in SC games. The singleplayer is different than other SC singleplayers in that it's faster paced. But it doesn't disappoint me. I mean, I'll miss the slow wittyness of the classic SC games, but it's good in a way that doesn't get me mad that it's different than other SC.

Anyway that's my impression so far. It's fun, but they grazed the target on the multiplayer.
OH, and the game is a b*tch to play on PC. It's better than DA, but there's still a crap ton of things wrong with it. It's obviously a console game with a mediocre port.

If the game killed PS, then I wouldn't be coming back to this site. Ubi tried to innovate instead of improve, so I'm still all in for PS.

I'm super bummed that you can just sprint behind a merc and he won't have any idea that you're there. But if you get in that 180* radar, he knows instantly...

Wow! I think that this sound vision is a great feature! I think blue would be a nice color  :D . If it doesn't conflict with the electromagnetic vision.

Regardless....

Fvrge, if you say that it will be released by the end of 2013 (which is super exciting by the way), will we see a beta before then by any chance??

I was also invited by Zack Cooper at Toronto but i didn't have a passport. The other invited fans already tried every mode of the game.

NOOOOOO!!!! I wish you could've gone.  :-\

So why did Xbox have a whole different variety of multiplayer gameplay than Xbox 360 and PC??

Really confuses me because they don't seem to have much difference in memory usage or anything.  ???

The Xbox version of multiplayer even looks a bit funner too haha.  :-\

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about the spy taking out those two mercs super quick...

I think I like this new SvM, but I still have some concerns like:

1. The merc's motion sensor only seems to show movement from the front. But what about a spy throwing a party behind the merc? Is there a separate indication of movement behind him?
2. The spy can take out a merc in front of him... I wouldn't want a spy to win if a merc and spy were charging eachother head on...
3. Even the classic mode seems too fast paced. I liked the patience of CT and PT. I'm also going to miss grabbing the merc because it is so much more rewarding than a quick SNAP run away.
4. The levels still seem a little too bright for me. There isn't a frame in classic where I saw pitch black. It looks like you could just turn up your brightness.

It's better than DA, but still ehhhh. I'll get it, but I hope they REALLY DEDICATE that classic mode to the SvM of CT and PT.

This is the list of things that i hate:

1) Frontal knife kills (bye bye elbows...)
2) Absence of free movement (No free jumps, No aerial KO)
3) Proxy detector gadget
4) Guns for spies (With guns i mean pistols. I've seen a Five-seveN and that irritate me)
5) Rifles for spies (Need to be confirmed if they are lethal or not)
6) The crossbow (Man that crossbow again? I hate that a lot)
7) 5vs5 (hopefully customizable)
8 ) Where are grabs? (need to be confirmed)

I don't even know if they are in advanced-alpha/beta, but I really hope that that poll (that Sheik mentioned) really change their minds.

Totally agreed with everything you said. I especially hate 1, 3, and 4.

1. From what I saw, the spy could do a physical kill from the front; which I don't like.
2. I feel like the spies still have that lanky frail look from DA, which always bugged me.
3. Motion sensor for Mercs is back, which I hate.
4. @Sheik I'm definitely pissed about the spies with guns thing. Dumb idea.

I think that the gatling gun is the same as the one in CT though.

Overall: eh ok

Yeah, you guys have a point when it comes to not judging it yet. But from what I've seen from blacklist so far, it's not anything close to what I am wanting to play from a Splinter Cell game. Sure, Conviction was a good game then that's awesome. But the fact is, it doesn't satisfy what I want from a stealth game.

I want to share with everyone that I am 100% sure that Splinter Cell AND its multiplayer will never return to its original form. They will NOT go back to what made the game great.

I want you guys to look at this link http://web.archive.org/web/20101225212903/http://www.gamepro.com/article/features/214761/splinter-cell-conviction/

This article is about why Conviction was so different. It turns out that when they started conviction, they got a new Creative Director: Maxime Beland... This new Creative Director was the Director behind Rainbow Six(!!!), and had stuff to do with designing Assassin's Creed. Here's what he has to say about his "masterpiece".

"The core gameplay in stealth games shouldn't be slow; it shouldn't be about studying patrols for 10 minutes before making a move."
      - Maxime Beland

This is the guy who calls the shots behind Splinter Cell now since Conviction...

"Instead of just doing another game in the same way as the previous titles, I proposed that we change the angle," he explains. "I wanted the stealth gameplay to be very different. Traditionally it's very slow, and requires you to study the patrol patterns of the bad guys. It's not permissive, and I wanted to change that. I wanted to take Sam and turn the whole stealth thing around. If he's supposed to be the best in the world, then he should be able to run without making a sound. Me? In real life I can't run silently, but Sam should be able to."
      - Maxime Asshole

"Hanging onto and creeping along ledges in stealth games is the slowest and most utterly f**king boring mechanic you can possibly imagine in a video game."
      - Who else than Maxime Beland

He obviously doesn't like anything that made Splinter Cell what it is, then WHY is he the Creative Director for it?!?!
This guy makes me really really really mad.  >:(

General / Off-Topic / SCCT Multiplayer on Xbox Live
April 24, 2013, 12:44:36 AM
Hey guys, so I know some of you want to play SCCT Vs on xbox live but they shut down the servers right?
There's a program called Xbconnect that allows you to play on "xbox live" with games that had their servers shut down.
It basically takes your xbox's computer connection and sets you up with people over the internet using the same program.
It fools the xbox into thinking that those matches are System Link games.

So just FYI, if servers is what's holding people back from playing back on xbox. There's still hope :D
And I heard people are still on Xbconnect playing SCCT

I would actually recommend just playing on PC with a controller but if you're feeling genuine then there's this ;)

Just reporting my recent discoveries.
