Title: GamesCom - The story (updated)
Post by: LennardF1989 on August 23, 2009, 02:27:51 PM
As promised, today I will be posting the images made at GamesCom. Each comes with a story, so read on. Yes, we know the booth looks horrible, that's our budget in action.

18th: Building the booth

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fbuild-upday.jpg&hash=bd2794d15d09e17c5b32dbe11dececfb2ea8c416)

It was supposed to be build already. We we're carrying a big-ass TV and all stuff that was supposed to be on the booth. After an hour or 2 of arranging, we had to go back to the camping, taking back all the stuff again.

19th: Press day

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fpress-day.jpg&hash=d62bfd56728ee27fec7663ce205cfa2ef9084a78)

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fpressday2.jpg&hash=d8171b8ef6692d06937bedeb5b72740a631bd9ae)

Since we had no rating, we had to cover all the screens as much as possible. Germany is a bitch, so even with this setup the USK came by and complained. We were pretty pissed about it, so we took a laptop with us to the USK booth and after about 2 hour we had a "All age"-rating.

20th: Public day #1

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fpublicday.jpg&hash=85ba6ff705c4652065528af3b8734472e1f77335)

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fpublicday2.jpg&hash=f5978c313542c9c046640276e6072692a7f895dc)

(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi259.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fhh312%2FLennardF1989%2FGamesCom%2Fpublicday3.jpg&hash=369db2f0a939fafe55531229613624f5febf6872)

Since we now had an "All age"-rating, we could make the booth more "lounge"-like, so we bought some cheapass PR material (208 business cards and some URL's on the wall) and recieved about 70 people. We were demoing the Spy in lakehouse like whole day.

21st: Public day #2
(https://community.projectstealthgame.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.projectstealthgame.com%2Fpublic%2Fmisc%2Fgamescomfrvge%2Fres1.jpg&hash=92a3737f086511ae8ea89c506341cb610a1a49a4)
All 208 cards were taken by the crowd, yay.

22nd and 23rd: Public day #3 & #4

No pictures yet, sorry. But we were sponsored by AluGraphics (http://www.alugraphics.de/eng/) for two really nice mouse-pads.

Some general pictures.

Spy banner

Our "Holland Paviljoen"-logo, looks pretty kick-ass. (below us is the Triumph Studios logo from the Overlord and Age of Wonders series)

Spy Banner is for sale... but only if the price is high enough :P Else I'm keeping it. Comes with a nice light. If you ask nicely, you can probably get the custom LED things too.

Has the spy's face been changed?  Or is it the angle that makes his eyes look different?

nothing has changed,   although there is camera distortion  which warps the proportions.

Yeah it made it seem like the spy's eyes were intruding further into his face.

So one of you slept in a caravan and the other in a tent ? wow, you guys really hate each other

btw here's a polish site info about the game

http://www.gram.pl/news_8grkHui8_Rusza_Project_Stealth_Spy_versus_Mercenary.html

"Newly revealed title: Project Stealth: Spy versus Mercenary is going to be interesting, free product using the Unreal engine. As it is easy to guess, game focuses on spies and mercs struggle

Objective of spies is to steal the data while mercs are supposed to prevent it.
The game mixes styles of stealth and shooter games and FPS with TPP. Spies are fast however they dont have a weapon. On the other hand, mercs are slow and armed to the teeth. Both sides must use technical means and players' skills to complete the objective.

It's about to be interesting game allowing to compete very different types of players. Project was revealed at 15th august and showed at gamescon. You can find more info at www...."
