Spy version. I really wanted to use the old concept art images kebab did for the characters just as a sort of 'history of PS' theme, so I put them to use. The background images will be static, just in case anybody was wondering. The 'Log In' and 'Unread Posts' pop up bars would only be visible when the buttons are moused over.

If anybody wants to grab the background images I'll be using and use them as their wallpaper, I got you covered. ;)

I agree, I like the suggested changes of swapping positions of the log in and navigation bar. I'll definitely put that to use in the final version. Any other changes you guys see? I might try a few things to make navigation easier and all that, and have a little fun with some things.

The 'new post' icon is the icon for the mercenary team (AKA my avatar for almost the last year), the spy version of the layout will be the spies logo, which I'll show the next time I post the design. Frvge is right, it's based off the greek alphabet, so it'll most likely stay unless I come up with something else in the future. They were both just placeholder logos, but they grew on me over the months I spent designing the UI system, so I'm not looking into redoing them anytime soon.

I'll be working on this more when I can, but just wanted to give you guys something since I've been so inactive lately.

I liked the idea of the user being able to choose if a spy or merc theme, or even both. The background I have right now is placeholder, I'll probably put some characters in the background and all that good stuff.

I got a little something brewing. ;)

Walkways that give holes when an explosion hits it. The whole walkway shouldn't be able to be destroyed though. Just holes you can fall trough if you're not careful. Small things that should make the merc think before throwing nades everywhere.

Pillars that fall down that you have to climb over.

Glass that has been shattered create a patch of broken glass that will make a cracking sound visible on the merc's hud.

Non accessible vents that once broken emit a dark cloud obscuring vision. If you crouch you're "under" the cloud and will see fine.

Pipes that shoot out steam once shot.

Support beams that break off the ceiling once shot enough or by explosion. Creating a maze of poles you have to make your way trough.

I like this guys ideas.

I actually really like this idea. Having the ability to drop the disk in the same fashion that you drop grenades would open up different ways to use the disk both to score, and for a tool that aggro spies can put to use. What I mean by that is, you could drop it in a corner, double back and wait for the merc to chase it, (since it shows up on his radar) and then grab him as he turns the corner. Would also make for some fun bait and switch tactics.

I have a feeling you're all a bunch of noobs at CT from the way you're talking... ::)

I'll have fun destroying you guys at PS.

New wallpaper. Manchester Orchestra does wonders to the imagination.

Grow up guys.

I disagree 100% with time deductions for killing. So you're saying that if I risk my life to kill a merc I should get punished? And if I kill 2 mercs I lose the game?

k.

By the way, what do devs think about an OCP? It's really hard to continue the thread without much of an opinion from the creators...

I used to talk about it awhile ago. I love the idea.

Yeah, I actually really enjoyed DA, so you guys can suck it. lol

It's a really good game, but when compared to CT, of course it doesn't stack up. It's still fun as hell and requires a different kind of gameplay and strategy; you don't sneak around and hide in the shadows when a merc is nearby, you stay far away from them. You see one? You leave and go somewhere else.

In DA it was all about anticipating your opponents movements. I still think the game had a lot of depth that wasn't really given a chance; such as dropping a smoke in the shadows before you hack from a distance, as it makes you basically invisible on EMF, which is pretty sweet.

I liked how the game played, it was different. Playing as a merc was more about knowing the maps and anticipating what you're opponent is going to do next. Mines and traps would of been useless since the spies basically had so many different spy only routes to traverse meaning they'd never work as in CT. The sticky cam would of been far too overpowering since you could knock the merc out, hack 3-4 seconds then leave before he wakes up and repeat. I really don't care if everybody says they hate it, I thought it was great for what it was.

Idk, anyway, dunno how this changed into a DA > CT > DA debate.
