do you start with a black or white background?

For that one I started with a really dark grey, then used a brighter grey as a base for the shapes, then shaded. I usually start with an off white then a dark grey or black for linework though. Brush settings usually stay around 50% opacity, 50% flow and then pressure sens set to size, I only change the flow to around 2%-5% for smoke and clouds. Canvas size was 1920x1080.

Redrew the planet in the background. Wasn't happy with it before.

Love the junkyard one but I've gotta say that the redrawn planet looks a bit lopsided.
