Privacy and why should I give a ****

I see a lot of videos and articles talking about privacy and such, but honestly why do people actually care?

Like I really want to know to why is your personal identity such a big deal?

I have a Facebook with all my mobile numbers, every contact, every address, where I work etc set correctly.

I don't use any privacy settings at all, and I really don't see the point of them, they can't do anything with that information anyway, and if they call me, hell better for me, I just answer and lay down the phone waste their money.

What is your opinion on this?

Well, people are overreacting. I have few E-Mails other for facebook and shit and other for private mailings.
All who should not see my private e-mails and numbers are strangers. For rest I don't care.

I just really don't see the whole point of being afraid if someone knows your phone number or can see your real face, this whole Identity theft thing seems strictly "If you are a dumbass it will happen".

well the shit starts when you have these things connected to sth usefull I guess like bank account or sth. Other is just small vandalisms, but it is just not right for me that others know my private stuff it is just not right, and that is why I! care...

It's about opportunity for people with less intentions.
Criminals have this thing called "plans". At least, for them I hope so.
These "plans" are based on "information". Like the location of a safe, if any, and if the owners are home.
This "information" can be deducted from the "interwebs" and if you supply it yourself, it makes it easier.

Without putting everything you have online, it takes more effort. And criminals don't like effort, else they'd be working a normal job.
