These particular episodes of this amazing show(I really recommend watching it!) tell about very crucial thing that we were discussing throughout the years, which is the "balance". I just think that it might be some food for thought. I personally am right now breaking the mechanics of spy vs mercenaries in my head starting from the very beginning, to figure out if we actually did something wrong along the way.

Have fun :)

Well it certainly is interesting. Although as a DotA2 player, his talk about LoL got on my nerves a little bit, but meh, doesn't really matter.

I think we already have a lot of counter-play in SvM, as you are essentially FORCED to play both sides of the game and so automatically learn to use the "what-I-would-do-in-my-enemies'-shoes concept".

On the other hand, perfect-imbalance is something that SCCT initially did totally right. However over the time, the lack of support showed its effects: It became clear that the mercs usually had a "unbreakable" advantage over the spy and resulted in games with balanced skilllevel between the teams, to end in a merc-round win for each team.
But the actual advantage was also "imbalanced in itself": Mercs can 1-shot-kill with their rifle, only when in snipe-mode. Shootgun is totally gamebreaking in DM but is useless at a distance over 5m. UZI leads to guaranteed FPS drops and has an absolutly unrealistic precision (UZI is in fact even more precise than the Rifle without snipe-mode!!!! WTF!!!).
And then there is the EMF ghosting... which is a major reason for merc advantage on maps like museum.

But in PS that would be different. I am sure that frvge will stay true to his word and will support PS and evolve it together with the community to a masterpiece game.
