All material changing is client-side unless you replicate the change to other clients, so you don't have to worry about that.

As to how it works, the Post Process effect we use looks for colors within the magenta-color range and replaces those with a heat-signature. Unless you have a good understanding of how shaders work, you're going to have a hard time implementing it. Our version, although unoptimized, is extremely huge and exists out of two to three material passes before we end up with the result you have seen in our screenshots.

Also keep in mind the sizes of things, like vents being 128x128, etc.

I find it quite hard on the eyes and I don't like the spacing between pretty much everything (I want borders instead).

It has something, but it's not perfect.

Let me answer this:

but I'm still not gonna buy it if it's not on Steam :)

EA seems to have had their dirty little paws in the development.

As in: Ain't gonna happen.

I liked the beta, played Caspian Border before they went public. Great experience. I only don't like the browser-based shit (Battlelog ansich is good though) and Origin trying to clone Steam makes me laugh.

I'M BACK! YEAH BABY, YEAH! OH BEHAVE! I'm all super hyper on getting this game out ASAP!

Sorry it's taking so long but I really appreciate the patience and everyone still taking the time to talk about stuff on the forum nearly each day. I think that just has to be said.

Thank you,

I have nothing with Apple at all, but simply the fact this guy has been fighting cancer for over 8 years, won it once, but still getting killed by it at the age of 56 is just saddening. It's also sad an influential man like this has to end in that way at that age.

Because in the beginning of time there were discussions whether PS would run on Mac or not, that's why.

One of my Youtube playlists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pixajZM6e_E&feature=BFa&list=PL7DBBFF1DC9F52989&lf=mh_lolz

That song and the 2 after it on repeat, so damn awesome!

And a huge collection on Spotify.

(I love instrumental soundtracks of games/movies FYI)

My entry: Alpha Protocol

The game is pretty shitty and the animations are super-gay, but it's stealth as we know it. It is like a mix of Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, Syphon Filter, etc. It had a lot of potential, too bad it turned out so bad.

I.G.I 1 and 2 - that was a nice game.
Yes! And I was about to say James Bond, too, but IMO it's not really stealth, you always end up a fight anyway (even the later James Bond games, although Blood Stone also had a KO feature and was played from 3rd person - much like Splinter Cell).

My definition of stealth is sneaking around and leaving no traces (which includes bullet holes, broken lights and dead/KO bodies).

The only game ever where I managed to stick to that "rule of stealth" is in most of the missions in SCCT.

@Dreads entry:
Why is he so obsessed with Oni, it's ok but not great :P

I misinterpreted the rules.
