Title: Preview build of the new Deus Ex was leaked.
Post by: Cronky on June 02, 2011, 01:12:36 PM
...Surprised at how little it's been talked about.

Said to have around 4-5 hours worth of content to mull through. Not a lot of stuff "finished", but definitely playable.

::EDIT::

To clarify, by "Not a lot of stuff 'finished'", I mean that things such as:

-Full DX11 support
-Tutorials play as if you have a GamePad inserted
-Crashes & Bugs
-Etc Etc.

Otherwise, the build was completely playable. Story, Cinematics, Combat, Leveling, Weapons, Enemies, AI, Controls, Environments, etc etc. were all there. A very much playable demo if you will, albeit a VERY large demo.

Deus Ex is for n00bs. Super Monkey Ballz is awesome.

I'm going to buy it on Day 1 most likely, so I have no intent to ruin it.

Apparantely the presentation of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution was quite bad. The producers said they didn't even know what they want to create out of the game, they didn't know wether it was going to be a fast pace game, or a slow pace, was it going to be a third person or first person, the cover to cover system is sluggish, and that affected the gameplay heavily, the storyline is still unknown by it's quality, so let's have our fingers crossed.

Don't worry you guys, I played it! (Temptation got the better of me)

I thought it was fantastic! I wont say anymore but what their doing with it, while maybe not EXACTLY what people are hoping for in some areas, was quite fine with me.* I was a sneaky snake throughout the whole thing. Also there was a genuine laugh I got out of it from them cleverly playing off your normal exploration habit.

It's still a Day 1, must buy for me.

I'll leave it at that unless someone has something they want answered (Gameplay-wise. I wont give away story detail even if asked)

*Nostalgia plays a big factor into how I feel about Deus Ex 1. Human Revolution didn't give me that same "Wow" feeling like what I remember from #1. I wasn't surprised to have choices in combat, or to be able to talk my way out of, or in to, stuff. Playing this build DID make me feel like they were going in the right direction though. They definitely didn't just pick one "main" way to play and stick with it (Alpha Protocol comes to mind, thinking that you were "OF COURSE" going to upgrade guns at one point... which I didn't... and shiz got real at the first boss). How you build your character still decides what paths are open to you, and that feature is all I was really wanting to see.
