Anyway, just wondering if it'd be possible to only put a clan tag into your account name if you are invited by the clan leader. It pisses me off when you get all these naps faking clans. Just wondering if its possible. Maybe it could be done like the Xbox Live Halo 2 clan system, which is when you're invited to the clan by the overlord or leader, the clan tag is automatically entered. Maybe an ingame Ranking system aswell, that'd be sweet, kind of similar to the clan system xfire has.
Anyway, Just wondering if any of this shit is possible / could be implemented?
Discuss..
Ranking has been discussed to death.
I don't think clan tags are necessary.
Well duh. It's not necessary, but pretty nice to have. And if it's possible, and if the devs have time, then why not? I find them nice and convenient to have, but in a 2on2 game there's not much of a point because you can tell what "team" they are on. Don't know how to explain it. But yeah, why not.

No clantag as in (.FL) clan or something not a team, like your thinking of.

By not necessary, I mean that I hardly find it worth the effort to make a whole clan system with clan leaders, members and invites, as well as databases for these and servers for the databases, if the only problem is solves is fake claning - which I haven't seen anyways.

Ah ok, i wasn't sure how much extra work it would be, by the sounds of it quite alot. You're right its not neccesary but like Papa said it would be cool. Obviously its not top priority, but it would be cool if it could be implemented, and one word if you havent seen it, NULB (hes faked like every clan, ever). By the sounds of it it seems to much work for its hassle, but if not, why not:P.
Would be cool, i think i brought it up before. Most people said no point since its 2v2, but i could see 10 ppl or so wanting to be part of one group even though they split up for games. It would also be cool to get some inhouse 2v2s going.
I don't think any databases would have to be made. Just make it like COD4 so someone can change the name of their clan so it shows it in little brackets to either side of their name.
Example: If I was part of a clan named "Total Domination" I would enter "TD" into the clan tag. It would show up like this in the lobby:
Papa Skull
No databases. Just to show who rolls with who. It's for those people who like to be uniformed as a clan, but this way they don't have to change their name. But then again, my point stands that it's only 2v2. But why not if the devs have time to implement this? It wouldn't be a lot of time I can assure you that. |
It isn't that big of deal. Use whatever system UT uses.
Papa: That does not prevent people from fake-claning, as was the intention of the original poster.
The original poster's problem isn't that big of a problem imo. Something simple and effective like COD4's system would be the best. Unless of course the devs want to go through all that programming and designing to get a better more complex system. If UE3 supports it AND the devs find the time, that is.
Yeh, it was kindof the main reason i made a new topic. I would want some sort of system which would stop clan faking.
i think having to create a new acc each time you switch your clan is more of a problem (and can easier be fixed) than clan faking or smurfing.

Good point.
agreed, clan tags should be sperate from acct name. How the devs implement it is up to them.
It's implemented already in UT3.
Good, like my COD4 system eh? Not really my system but you know. :D
