Examples: information about moves, visions, background story (if any...).

News updated every week about the development process, info about what you work on, what the problems are, internal discussions. Obviously media, perhaps some game tutorials.
Yea, migrate lennards blog across.
On the main page have a brief summary followed by an automated recent updates in the blog section.
Have a section for the blog.
Have a gallery section which has all the images and videos from the tick tock threads.
A section about the game in detail with links to pages about gadgets, gameplay and visions.
A section for the team members bios (active ones of course)
A link to the forum.
once the game goes beta, plus those:
-replay section (also with tutorials, tactics, tournament replays, ...)
-a counter of how many people are logged in at the ps server
-tournament section
-faq (game/mod description, technical stuff, common problems/misunderstandings, history of the project, ...)
-download area (latest version, patches, custom maps, custom skins, fan art, ...)
maybe i think of more later.
?? I don't understand what you're saying.

why is there an idea in implementation for a new page ?
Because you are getting a totally new site besides the forum? Even my grandma would have understood that when frvge asked for ideas.... and she doesn't even understand English.
Of course...

So why not just glance some other game sites and see what they have as opposed to asking such a silly question? Even my grandmother would think this topic was naive/obvious.
Also, integrating Lennards blog...you meant the blog that was update in the beginning of August and hasn't been touched since? lolz

Maybe because I don't have anything to report, I'm a full-time student for Pete's sake... and it's not that the whole community is interested in programming stuff. A case of "I can't be arsed".
On-topic plz :( Else I'll let a kitten live!
Maybe it'd be a better idea to just link to the ModDB for more information.
ModDB is limited.
Well at the very moment anyway, it's limits seem to fit the mod because the mod doesn't seem to be near a stage were things like weekly news can be posted or take advantage of a website giving info on it compared to ModDB.
You guys obviously have no idea how much time/patience/whatever it takes to develop a website suitable for the final product.
We are just gathering idea's on what you guys expect to see on our brand new website once the game is released and when there will, most likely, be weekly updates.
If you knew what we could offer you guys through a new website, you'll HATE the ModDB site due to it's limits. So please work along a bit.
Ok in bullet points:
> PS account should be linked with your website account, so users can check win:loss ratio or whatever.
> Friend list should also be linked, and users can send messages to people in game via the website.
> Match, Clan, and Clan recruitment schedular should be placed on the website.
> People can make clan pages, via the website, similar to xfires clan page thing, but better.
> Users can upload gameplay videos and have the vidoes linked to their profile or clan.
> Forum, Similar to this.
> You can join games directly from the website.
> Each player should have a profile page, which can be fully customizable (ie font, background, info, all that crap)
> A who is online notification somewhere, so you know who is playing (like the thing PS has on the homepage).
> It should have some more advanced tutorials on it so if players so desire they can do them (unfortunately we have to consider the mid skill level....)
> Maybe some sort of rating system, to rate if people are friendly or flame or whatever, idk.
(Not saying any of these ideas are possible, just would be nice, I havent thought out any of the ideas, just off of the top of my head so some ideas may suck).

Hey, it's going to be the next best thing since life on earth. You underestimate them =/
Interesting stuff, ChickenSkin, but any real multi-media wont be made until beta.
So is there any text-based info you'd like?
and hmm maybe a merchandise section , like Have Project Stealth based T-shirts :D
with the blood splatter :D , in black or white :D
Well Lennard the key thing is you say that "If you knew what we could offer you guys through a new website, you'll HATE the ModDB site due to it's limits." Well, simple fact is not everyone does so explain your extra flexibilities and maybe we're getting somewhere :P.
I think we all realise it takes time and patience to create a suitable website for the final product, but even so doesn't mean we're in a relevant position to discuss one with the limited knowledge we have about the mod.

Ofcourse, but take the example of Agent.
He says he would like some kind of webshop for T-shirts and such, this requires us to do three things:
- See how many people would actually pay for it (no use in getting 50 T-shirts while only 3 will be sold)
- Make the webshop which actually works
- Make the T-shirts somewhere
Unfortunately, how much I would love too, I can't tell what we are all planning, it takes away the suprise effect we are trying to achieve.
But even though you don't know whats possible, ChickenSkin was on the right track. He say that he would love to have friends and such linked to the website, means we can explore those possibilities (although, note we're talking about GameSpy here).
GameSpy is indeed limiting, so don't count on those things to be implemented.
Going to sound pretttttty gay, but a little paragraph or two on each of the devs would be nice. Maybe when you have a beta, a little story (in want for a better word) of how the mod started, how long it took, when it started, any difficulties you ran into, internal troubles (dev team, technical difficulties), external troubles (like Ubi threats, community etc), highlights of the project. You know like a story or report on everything. That would humour me and Im sure it would interest a lot of the other community (If not ban them, for they are ungrateful) ;].
I think everything else was mentioned in my previous post :].
Interesting idea. I like it.

theres nothing wrong with having funding or donating , trust me tho im sure alot would buy a ps shirt, i know I would :D
Im sure all of the community would happily pay some sort of yearly / one off fee for the dedicated servers, website servers, and ongoing support of project stealth (patches and stuff) if you guys need the money.

We are not allowed to ask money for the game or its services (website, dedicated server) as long as the game is a mod for UT3. If we win a license, we can.
For now, we can only accept donations. Or sell T-shirts :P
Well things you could do at least :P:
Weekly/Monthly (Depending on activity of the mod) 'Best kill' 'Best Teamwork' videos, stuff like that could be cool.
'Teams Section' for the Teams and Clans who seem to be the most committed to Project Stealth, help newcomers get better, and personality wise aren't dickholes, maybe embed a video into their pages showing some of their skills, things like that would be nice too.
Organised Tournaments.
All I have at the moment since ChickenSkin pretty much said a lot of good ideas :P.

I will be donating once the beta is released, not sure how often or whatever as I need some money for myself, but so long as you guys keep the patches / new levels coming I will be donating. Im not buying a T-shirt though, might aswell write geek on my forehead with a permanent marker :P.
yeah, no need for geek shirts.
i can't see a problem with paying for a dedicated server, afterall you pay for the server and not for the mod oO

From my understanding a dedicated server would be listed as one of the mods services, which means we arent allowed to pay for it, only donate.
So points:

Anyone wants to add, especially TEXT-BASED INFORMATIONAL, pages?
What about editing Spekkio's noob guide for PS. That would be a great thing to have for all the newbies! That's a lot of text.
a counter for how many people have visited. -That's ultra cool.
The counter could evolve into an e-penis that grows with every visitor!
So ion loves e-penises? Ok..., sure, if that makes you feel better.
The pubes should also grow at a realistic rate. I guarantee it will bring more of cockfans friends in.
End of that discussion...
I'll write down all of the text-based information that I would like to see.
-All of the abilites/moves that the user will be able to perform for both teams. That would also include moves that have (or possibly will be) improved on that have already been in the previous games, and a side table showing all of the new ones.
-Same thing above, but for equipment/visions/and anything that I'm probably forgetting at the moment.
-Map descriptions. Game Mode descriptions. Nuff said.
-Any extra interesting features that will be placed in the game. For example: Chaos Theory had a tutorial mode.
-And last but not least, what we have to do in order to join the beta.
Ok, thanks :)
Pictures next to each item would also be awesome, but not really needed.
