We're in Concept Stage and a bit of Pre-production.

the concept are will be made public in order to promote finding more professional programmers willing to work on a mode ....and in order to be taken seriously.

If you want PS to get done faster, then help us find more people that can contribute.
At least, it's starting to look like it might actually go somewhere, even though there's little to disseminate yet.

On the topic, I notice that UT3's release date  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Tournament_3) has been changed from June 1st to Q3-Q4 2007 (June 1st was complete speculation). So, I'm not in the marketing business but doesn't this imply "holiday title", as in Christmas time? I can't see executives decide to release a game over the summer (where I assume video game sales are lower) over giving the development team some more time to get it right by Christmas.

It screams like that, yes. However, more debugging is good. While I am sure it's got quality.

They don't debug, they develop. Debugging means they make mistakes, which they don't, they're perfect. Also, games usually don't release their SDKs until a couple of months after release, keep that in mind.

There's no perfection, although I think they come close in the UE3 engine :P
