Map layout interests me more, always and this is just a staircase so I can't judge. :)

Tilings are kinda visible, but it's ok for WiP.

Tiling on the wall is awful.

Also you need to improve your settings on crazy bump.

well noted guys, weekend is work time in the house but next week ill make the textures look alot better i hope, i think the stairs look pretty nice tho... i redid the diffuse and spec so it doesnt show patterns ofwear, will render after major updates to the wall tiles are done, and a new concrete texture with no cement lines.

btw the only texture i didnt create by hand was the wall tile, not that im special but im fairly impressed with the concrete stuff.

thz.

i can see the tiling on the wall but apart from that its pretty good.

thz...

got a re-work of all the textures for more fluidity amongst all of them.

lighting will be fairly dark when imported and setup... shadows and light direction will be a key to its look which i cannot replicate in max without a major overhaul of the scene...

specular highlights will be tweaked in material editor for a cooked-tile sheen with gloss.

Looks good to me, although the tiling on the wall can be seen I wasn't really bothered.

Since you're into audio gear and all that, here's your analogy: It's as good as an ibud or skullcandy.

This is how it's supposed to be.

its difficult to tell since the major visible wall is curved with unique uv's... the tile does infact look uniform now except where uv's do not apply.

i get what you mean though.

The tiles that you posted definitely look better, but I still like his too to be honest :P.

Don't even bother editing out my opinion, please. I can still see Rays messages in the Topic Summary section of the reply page, you shouldn't hide it.

Yeah looking at it for a while gives me some ideas... i think the yellow grunge is good for a dirty look and will break things up ill see about breaking up this texture and make a pattern then tile it smaller...

If i could for a few moments, let's talk about particle collision in maps: Does my geometry require anything to keep chaff and smoke particles looking normal? I plan on building a shell for each room so that it is sealed with exception of the doorway+windows. And the hall tiles will be modeled also with a doorway. Will this work Ok?

Sure you like, just like people like their ibuds. This is because you don't enough experience or knowledge about what's happening there. And don't even think about saying that thing of "you don't need to be able to do a movie to see if a movie is good or not". ;)

That would be unacceptable in ANY game company and even in this mod because, it really is, THAT bad and whoever has a tiny bit of experience with texturing wouldn't even consider leaving it the way it is.

I'm actually a video editor now, just because I understand that doesn't mean I can exclude the opinions of people who aren't :P. That's true in any situation, I'm not saying that it doesn't have to be improved because I think it looks fine, I'm saying that it can't be awful.

you know what i sense that you will forver be greedy dicks and i basically offered me valubale time to do something i nejoy and make it as enjoyable for the rest of you as it shouldve been in the first place...

since this fuckiin fiasco ive noticed people acting bizzare around me in other games which i will and have to admit is a form of entertainment for me.... i wont go right out and say its you doing it but i know that you talk shit behind my back and i know afor a fact that i talk shit straight to your fucking doorstep, here at YOUR site.

you could have banned me but you have your shady reasons perhaps for me to know all the sacrificing realism and quality for something that the unreal 3 enigne makes easy: graphics and fx.

so i wash my hands of your fuckin pullin the woll over everyones eyes makin this seem like a badass project woprth its salt but it isnt so fuck you all and i swear to god if i feel you people talking in the form of anything fucked up i dont want in my AO i will make you feel the heat in ways ive never done before... you got me talkin and havent been able to shut me up since... i foght this alone you all have yourselves and anyone in the games indusrtry which is nororious for being evil money hordering slave-driving pricks that noone in their right minds would respect in the real world.
