What are you going to do with the mod when its done ?
That is the question literally .
What are you going to do with the mod when its done ?
Perhaps you might give it for free to valve to do all crap they want with it with you being able to Fix/Change it ? This game will need more people if it could get competetive , and valve would also be happy to earn +2-5$ for free from a lot of people ...
We publish it so everyone can download it. Then we throw a big party for devs with hot chicks on a tropical island. I think. *checks bank account* Hmz, scratch the last idea.
Yeah, scratch that last idea. Party in space. An island is so, cliche.
But the game won't be popular and it will die in 6 months :( again .
Steam could keep it alive at least for life if it gets very popular or for couple of years if it just gets to steam at least.
I would happily pay 5 dollars for that :-[ .
hey :)
I have the same opinion that snakebit , i would want that "project stealth" is popular and "steam" can give a Better opportunity for it because we are i think a small community .
HAPPY NEW YEAR ;)
Yeah, I guess the best thing you can do is advertise and advertise some more. I'm going to tell everybody I know that will be remotely interested. Another way to keep the game alive for a long time is to come out with new maps every few months...other than that, if the game turns out to be better than CT we shouldn't have a problem.
We'll do our best :)
theres a really good mod, its pretty old and has dated-gfx but Insurgency mod is being routed through Steam, it has a pretty good fanbase i grabbed it a few days ago and theres always servers for it.
i think with the CT fanbase and once any kiddies see that you are what Ubi willnot offer them i think the player-base will expand, and i know your all doing your jobs so i guess i just want to help out ; )
I believe svm is a good idea in itself . THE idea is superb in itself . The gameplay is also superb but
1st thing that screwed the gamebase for pt / ct was
1) Horrible Lag.
2) No support.
3) Glitches.
4) No new stuff.
5) Dumbing down of the game because french people are pussies. (It was the french who took out taz gun away and that to be honest killed the game along with noise sensor , both of which stupid french fanbase wanted to add , because they found taz run annoying )
Xbox showed that svm had the 2nd largest fanbase , when it came out , 2nd only to halo i think ?
That is because it didn't have so much of the upper problems........
Just imagine what steam could do for SvM . I usually wanna be a realist you might creat a good game with superb ideas but you need advertizing and that is what steam could do for you ....

another way and what i had stumbled up on ,is i found out this : http://www.moddb.com/groups/desura/news/introducing-desura .
Steam has more people using it than desure and when it is comming out is still unknown.
Since I don't really want to create a new topic and this is somewhat relevant I am just going to post this here. About the advertising...I would highly recommend putting your game on http://www.gamespot.com/ (http://www.gamespot.com/). It is clearly the top gaming website in the world, and it could attract more attention to PS. Here is a brief description of the advertisment process, the benefits, and the fan base. http://www.cbsinteractive.com/advertise/properties/gamespot.html (http://www.cbsinteractive.com/advertise/properties/gamespot.html). And Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameSpot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameSpot). You probably have already heard of it, but I see it as a must in order to spread the word. You can put all of your pics and vids along with your description. I don't know if you were waiting to get more content before doing this or not, but the sooner the better because then you attract more people.
How is that space party coming?
