Title: What Platform?
Post by: MikeRobawls on May 04, 2010, 11:33:35 PM
Probably just haven't looked hard enough but was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is going to be available on the 360 or if it's a PC game?

We'd need a good publisher. Would anybody actually buy Project Stealth for 360 for $60?

I would buy it for 360 over the PC personally, but that's just because I've grown up with an Xbox and never really played PC games.

If it became available on the 360 I would definitely pay $60 for it

Of course. With the required libraries.
No-one expects you'd be able to compile them yourself.

I am not sure about the 64-bit thing. However, if you don't have 64-bit, get with the flow already xD.

The current version of UDK doesn't allow for that. There are signs that it's possible for licensees of the engine, but that costs a lot of money.

With a small community of PC players who are in this for free, why would you think there would be enough people willing to buy it for $20+ for another platform?  I would buy it, and there would be more publicity, but it probably isn't worth it.

Why would I think that? Because if this game ever were available on other platforms I can guarantee you that every Splinter Cell fan out there who was thoroughly dissapointed with the lack of multiplayer in Conviction would hop all over this game, I see so many people on the SC forums just begging for spy vs merc and this would make their wishes come true.

Mike i hear ya on that.  tho dont listen to curdy, Ive seen alot of people who would buy this in a heartbeat when ive mentioned about it and the features. I think what you need to do is stop advertising xb connect and premote this more :D , and also for the people that wanna play chaostheory, they should just buy it off steam for 5 or 10 dollars and play till this comes out... the more american players, the better :D and that means more competition for me and other vets alike :D.

Hmm on a side note I wonder why there are so many europeans on chaostheory versus mode then . convictions... when it seems to be the perfect atmosphere for them: no mic and No voice chat ! :O !

@ Curdy, you sir are wrong about the numbers I know at least 700 people + that are dying to play this.

LOL yeah right.  I would agree that there are probably at least 700 people who would play, but I would not say 700 are dying to play.  Most are just casual people of interest.  And how do you know 700 people????  Oh yeah I forgot- your goal in life is to make tons of internet friends through xfire.  Now I can see where you are pulling your number from.

You'd be hard pressed to find 700 different people that'd ever played CT online, let alone ones that actually enjoyed it enough to want to play PS. :/

both of you truely underestimate the demand for this and that is sad.

As well as the fact that word gets around like a wild fire , and this isnt just acccounted just by my xfire profile but also , the stats show , loook how many people are signed up this forum and it isnt unjustified because the filter for fake accounts is enabled.

Also look how many people are signed up to moddb , as well as the new comers that are posting .

How many of those accounts have been touched in the past year? How many of them have more than 5 posts, even?

And how many posts? More importantly, how many posts from people who want SvM? From different people? I'm thinking there'll be a lot less than 10000.

10k views, but each person has probably viewed it 250 times so that doesn't mean it is 10,000 different people.

people were signing the pitition it probably got around 700 sigs. anyway i was just trying to show that there is interest for SvM and if this game comes out on XBL and it is good and simaler to CT SvM i would expect it to sell like 50-100k units(or digital units lol)

I wish we could release it on console, but that's a lot of money for the UE3 license.

Of those 700, I'm guessing at least 650 say "wow, this sucks" and never play it again. Nothing against the mod team -- they're a half dozen guys working in their free time to put together something playable -- but some of you guys are expecting a fully polished, professional game that's going to grab the attention of the masses. The first release will probably be far from that.

I'm with agent for the SCCT just play on steam, more people on there then xbc. And I've told a bunch of my friends who love the SC series and loved SvM but were disappointed in Conviction, and want an SvM i told them about PS and they said there pc probably couldn't run it, so i think its a great idea to try to get on a console when you can, i'm just really excited for the PS itslef.

No. Unless UDK gets support for that. So no.

There are people still in the shadows secretly craving for project stealth, such as myself and I know of three others who aren't registered here but also are anxious to see how this all works out.

Agent helps reminding me the project is still ongoing and I probe the forums every now and then, obviously in a very stealthy manner.
