As a small teaser, and to show we're having progress, we just released a few more pics of the Merc's first person perspective.
http://projectstealthgame.com/media/screenshots under the Merc Early Gameplay section.
We're aiming to release a video of some more stuff like this in the next... uh... I don't know. But we're certainly working on it :-). Can take a few more weeks, because a new internal Revision is coming up.
Why you got to tease us like that?!
You know how long I've been waiting for a new Video!?
Too long... 37 seconds ...too damn long.
Thanks for the updates. Most of it looks good, except the graphics can look a little weird when the merc has his light shining on the walls and in the vents. Maybe it's just me idk...
great update :D look forward to the video update ;)
Sexy.
WoW Whoever made nade explosion effect... grats for him, Great work! But imo rifle shine effect on the scope and that little ammo panel is weird. I want to see how it looks in video, but I* don't care about that thing ingame. :P
Nice work guys, Peace! ;D

This. The textures look really strange (reminds me of when you just turn lighting off altogether) when the torch is on them. Apart from that, freakin' sweet. ;D
Graphics bad. Cancelling pre order.
No seriously, these were my first words: Wa woa wee wa.
Freakking great guys. You guys should put cardboard cutouts of the spies in the game room. Sort of an homage to squat/river mall. Ya know. I would love to fake being a piece of cardboard as a legitimate tactic.
I don't see problems with the textures when the flashlights shine on them. It's a bright flashlight... looks normal to me.
Cardboards of Spies don't really make sense in the setting of Lakehouse.
You don't have cardboard cutouts of random people in your lakehouse like I do?
Not that I know of.
He means the gun looking like shiny plastic. It's an error that occurred due to the various transitions from one to another engine (RoboBlitz => UT3 => UDK), we are aware of it and goodkebab/MR.Mic will be fixing it sooner or later.
Thanks for the heads-up, though :)
I think he means the fact that the door is black in the first pic and doesn't seem to be lit by the flashlight in the slightest. The wall looks amazing though, just the door is pitch black.
I replied to unskilled.
As for the lightning on the door, not all StaticMeshes are setup to accept lightning yet, hence why it's WIP :D
Looks fantastic so far, keep it up! :)
I didn't see lightning, and Frvge my lakehouse wouldn't be complete without some cardboard company.

ya i lol'd
for crying out loud, the gun still takes up way too much room...
the nade could use some motion blur as speed indicator.
the explosion looks sweet.
The gun is shown in the 'lobbing a grenade' animation, which indeed takes up quite some space. And it still needs to be tweaked a lot.

The gun looks like it's in the normal position in a couple drawings...still needs to move over to the right a bit. It actually obscures the bottom-right quarter of the flashlight circle (which may be a bit too small, but we'll see) as-is.

I agree. I don't like it when FPS games have the gun in the dead center of the screen. Move it to the right a bit and it's golden.

Why don't you move it to the left side of the screen for us left-handed people? It's sad to see the guns always on the right side.
Never mind, everyone is use to playing games with the gun on the right so just keep it. ;D

Why does it need to be moved to the right?
here is an example it' s almost in the mid here

the whole thing is just way too fat and too close to the center of the screen.

Well it's not like it's a huge deal it's just more of a preference thing. It's not that bad at all but we'd prefer it to be to the right because it's more like CT's style for one thing. The place it's in right now isn't a terrible spot I'm just politely suggesting that it be moved a bit more to the right and that seems to be the general consensus so far.
Don't play in widescreen and it will be on the right.
Problem solved.
;D
Nah, I agree, but I'm not the one who positioned it, I just placed it where certain teammembers wanted it to be placed. IMO you see too much of the butt of the weapon, making the front obscure the center of the screen too much.
I've always thought it looks a bit goofy when placed in the center because I don't carry a gun like that. The butt of my rifle always sits directly in my right shoulder, not in my chest. If I'm standing straight, my torso is twisted towards the gun (to the right) making the gun go further to the right in my view. Also, my face goes closer to the top-left side of the gun -making it impossible to see any part of the right side of the gun.
Maybe it just looks a bit weird to me because I hold my gun a certain way but then again it's the standard way of holding rifles. But it's not like I can't deal with the gun being a bit more to the left in a video game, obviously. :D

If you could see perfectly through your peripherals, it would be close to the center. ;)

So maybe the real issue is that the gun is too "long" and extends too far into the center of the screen rather than being too far left.
The reason we have an issue with it is because, unlike other action FPS games, the more viewing area you have as merc, the better off you are.

Have you held a rifle? ???
The only way it's closer to the center is if I'm firing from the hip - and I don't recommend that. Doubt a group of mercs would either (see Argus). Rambo might (Stallone, not Gawain)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZi_kDkOjIQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZi_kDkOjIQ) - the gun would cover up the bottom-right side of his peripheral vision (like CT/PT/DA)
http://www.myspaceclipart.com/images/popculturefifteen.gif (http://www.myspaceclipart.com/images/popculturefifteen.gif) here's another correct stance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peZoF9tOAjs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peZoF9tOAjs) - this would be the result of firing with the butt stuck in your chest (kinky?) and would give the result of peripheral vision in the area that you seek. He was actually holding the rifle correctly, but this was just a funny vid that I had to share. "WILLY BOB!"
Just a tiny pet peeve of mine. This personally would not be an area I'd choose to draw inspiration from COD.

Okay I'll call for a truce with the animations tigaer.
@comicsserg:
The new version to me looks much better. Much more like CT than call of duty. And honestly it's not that the old one looked bad at all, it's just that the new one looks great. Maybe you should start a poll if the other developers would be willing for it to change.
ok, i'll try
