Post by: Snakebit. on July 21, 2010, 05:42:42 PM
Yeah i know you all hate ubi , bla bla. But i am sure some might have betrayed the ubi hate and have tried the mp , so how good or bad is it ?

Didn't touch conviction.

Are you talking about coop missions or the online multiplayer?

If you are talking about the multiplayer "versus" (well, it's not versus but whatever), then I would not waste time buying the game for it.  I have played it a total of 2 hours online.  Playing against bots is not that great.  If you are looking for something similiar to SCCT, then don't bother because the level of creativity, stealth, and strategy is low.

The co-op is good fun, especially to full stealth. But neither the single player, the co-op, or the multiplayer comes close to CT in my honest opinion. It's understandable that they wanted to change things up from SvM, but the co-op is a step back, the whole game is very linear. However with that said, you can still get through the whole game undetected, I made a walkthrough for every level in the game (although they're a little outdated; I can do it a lot better now, and some of the sections which I thought to be impossible actually are possible).

The walkthrough can be found HERE (http://www.youtube.com/justanotheraccount). I've got the first co-op mission up too if you want to watch that.

played both versus and co-op. Both are terrible. Actually. The co-op plays like the single player in the sense that whatever you can see will die and the co-op actions are non-existent. The versus is the same thing, if you can see your enemy they will die.

TLDR don't bother

Just for the record: There is NO versus in Conviction, just a multiplayer mode (read: coop-mode) with different gametypes. I don't see why most of you say stuff like "played both versus and co-op", because there simply isn't a versus in this game :/

Coop is okay with a friend, but the versus is absolutely terrible.  It's like coop except you fight eachother - YOU CAN DO THAT IN COOP MODE FFS.

Yes there is. It's the one where you and the other player try to kill at each, with the map also filled with a bunch of bloodthirsty idiot bots to distract you.

Yeah, COOP Story and Hunter are pretty good\fun.

Don't touch any other D-Ops mode or Face Off because they're not much good.

That's just a gamemode called Face-Off. It has nothing to do with versus, whatsoever.

It's a mode where you 'face off' VERSUS another player. It's a shitty adversarial mode. Versus does not mean Spies fighting mercs in every context.

FACT: SCC is fun when you play like this:

Infiltration mode
Gadgets off
pistols only
Time limit : 5 mins
Must use un-Silenced pistol
Russian embassy

It's actually challenging

I once played a face off match where we didn't even kill eachother one time.  We just tried to kill more AI than the other player.

Huh.  A mode where you can endlessly kill stupid AI and whoever kills the most stupid asses is the biggest badass.

Fail... You didn't say versus another player... You said "Played versus". You'd have to say "Played versus another player" or "Played face-off".

"The versus"... That way, you're stating it as a gamemode... You don't say "The against is the same thing", either, right?

There's co-op with gamemodes, that's it.

Even though face-off isn't much co-operation. Co-operation to die.

Fail... In face-off you can pull each other down from boxes and over railings, and break each other's necks, etc.

Not to mention you can take a pistol with 20 bullets and just run and gun...

See an enemy player? spamm C, whoever presses it fastest wins.

I don't see why this is hard to understand, but okay.

Lol close up battles consist of both players jamming the "KILL" button until one person randomly gets the kill.  Yay random.  Don't ya know random things are the best things for competitive multiplayer?

Mulle, when I said it was just like coop, I mean they obviously put NO WORK AT ALL into developing the face off mode whatsoever.  They took coop, added some CQC moves that were already in the game so that the 2 players could do that to each other.  Called it "FACE OFF" and called it good.  That should appease the fans lolololol

"It's like the two man wolf pack okay? So you can crouch and pick up objects and kill each other with fast stealth. It's like a frogger. Der are no more rules to play by because it was really hard to have to not be seen and so now you can use fast stealth and gadgets to get the job done okay"
