#LennardF1989 Confirming earlier tweets: Internal playable game expected around the end of August. This will NOT be the public beta!
I was just wondering why?
Why not for the public?
What was the major flaw?
If there was a flaw how could and why it would affect the gameplay?
Lennard just likes to ruin all the fun for everyone.
Course now what I want to know is... while he said No Public beta... We're a pretty tight nit group of individuals here. Couldn't it be considered a Private Beta if only frequent forum go-ers are able to play? ;)
I like my plan. It must be right.
Hahaha. No.
IF the guys think it's better to do internal (dev) testing, then let them do it.
This way, we get a better game, and they don't need to worry about releasing patches (it is a hassle).
Internal builds are required before the public gets them.
You don't just send out bombs to the public without testing them internally first, right? Oh, wait...
Ummm... Don't they do Internal Dev Testing everyday that they work on it?
;D ;) ;) :D 8)
I have a proposal. Some may like it, some may not.
I suggest a new branch of the "dev team" is made, which would be testers (alpha builds). Of course this is an idea for the future, and depends on the sharing system (git would be pretty good afaik), but imo that'd be awesome.
AND it would give the actual devs more free time, since testing should be thorough (like 24/7, hehe).
Well, that's my say.
Ah, at least it created some buzz, hurray. I confirmed frvge's earlier "retweets" because I was on a holiday on that time and I just recently created a schedule on how I am going to make the August "deadline".
We never had any REAL playable game with all elements of Project Stealth. The build I planned now does, but it will not be the quality of a beta. This in terms of: No updater, no serverlist, no proper menu. The polish, so to speak. At the end of August, we will start playing and balancing the game out where needed and apply the polish needed for a beta, then a public beta will be released.
The beta was never delayed because it was never planned to begin with. In my most unofficial statement: I expect a beta roughly a month after the internal playable version. Again this is HIGHLY unofficial and god knows what might happen during the internal testing period, so don't get back on me if there is no beta in September.
Well, I guess we can wait for another month... One problem is that alot of my friends who are playing CT, are beginning to lose hope :/
I just hope that won't affect the amount of people will be playing this game.
You do need maps to play on, for testing to take place. Things tend to take a little longer then excepted... but I can use some extra time, and it will be worth the wait. don't lose hope:) Things are coming along nicely.
Lakehouse map should be more than enough for people to test on. But I guess you are right, I do not want another Conviction...If you know "WATAMEAN"!

Can you think of anyone on this forum who would NOT want to be one of the testers? Everyone would want to get his nose in the testing, and then there would be more controversy stirring around.
quite frankly, even the "real" release will be lucky to have the quality of an ubisoft beta. (yeah, i really just wrote that! xD)
mod/indie communities somehow always set way too high expectations. great work needs time...

Not really.
Afaik Lennard knows his stuff, and that's where most of the bugs are.
you underestimate the creative force of a gaming community =)
To be perfectly honest, I would really just want a game, with crappy graphics and that is 100% bugless.
Once that done improving graphics should not be a problem...Mmm?

What? Is this a joke?
What's to say that changing the graphics does not in turn make more bugs... Mmm?
;D

The Improving graphics? Yeah I went off a bit with that one ><. :'(
But the part with crappy graphics and good gameplay, 100% Serious :)
I don't see the major flaw here just because they are internally testing it out before going beta. If PS has a major bug that destroys PC's then I want the dev team to take the hit before we do. Think of them as the airborn paratroopers or the bomb squad. They put their shit on the line.

True that!
I'm curious as to how much of a decline has happened in PS followers from the beginning until now...since it has been a few years and all.
Does dread think that a beta test it a version of the game with low detail graphics?
Yes.

You moron, I meant that whatever the graphics they give I will be happy with, as long as it won't be another Chaos Theory where you can do self coop or any other crap.
Self coop? First time I've heard of it.
Aquarius Greek temple, there is a spot where you can get on a ceilling alone. Missile Strike same thing at the start spawn area there is a way aswell. Tons in Factory level.

Wow your really dumb and naive , You really think that the team is just a bunch of developers that don't know what they are doing by the sounds of it, well you young man are gravely mistaken / I doubt you have even dared to try the custom maps made by certain people ie. Pyrocryptic or even UMP cinema Or or Even ZioPlex , Try getting into the co-ops on the wall by urself.. it cant be done.
Further More These guys arent just developers, they have played the game as much as anybody else and beyond that, Most of the guys on this team have played since the beggining of the multiplayer demo days in pandora tomorrow.
Does it count as coop-ing yourself if you sit on two computers and play as both Spies?

As said before, it's a big game made by only like 8 active members in their spare-time. Considering it took Ubi 3 years to come up with PT/CT multiplayer with a full-time team, I think there shouldn't be any decline considering a public beta is expected in roughly 2 months (after about 3 engine switches and 3 years later).
Besides, we aren't the only ones going on a few years. Black Mesa Source is already around since 2004 and there still isn't even an alpha version out, which is 6 years compared to our 3 years.

Random thought here...
The thing I find different with Black Mesa Source (Which I'm looking forward to also) and PS is that one is a Single Player game which I've already played. So the experience I'm looking forward to in that one is just a... Wow factor in comparison to what I played back in the day. The actual game just kind of being a second hand thought and easily dismissible in reality.
PS on the other hand is a Multiplayer experience. Constantly changing with the people that are participating at the time. I'm actually looking forward to playing it. While the graphical face-lift is cool, it's unneeded to what I'm really excited for. You all could have literally stolen CT's SvM and just gave it balance updates, new maps, etc., and I believe the same amount of people would be sitting here waiting exactly like right now.
In the end...
I'm looking more towards PS because I actually want to play it... So... Hurry up ;)
I'm looking forward to playing Black Mesa simply because of nostalgia... So... I don't care how long they take.
And where does it say the beta was delayed? As far as I know it wasn't even announced to be released. All they said was that the internal testing is not the beta.

Which I said because frvge hoped it would be the quality of a public beta (see earlier twitter message), which I beforehand already knew it wouldn't be.
Thanks for the input. Hopefully the community has stuck around, and I'm sure there will be a nice addition.
good games have populations based on the game and not the hype surrounding it. SCDA may have had lots of players when it came out but new people aren't flocking to it by any means. SCCT on the other hand.....

"You Ideas"
Back at you.
It's funny you point out a grammar error when you said "definately" in your last post. You can't be serious.
I'm just saying I'd like to understand you better so we can have meaningful discussions. For all I know you have great ideas!
Sorry about that last post, I missed the "R" button.
